This is to inform all prospective candidates that the MAN Post UTME Form for the 2022/2023 academic session has been released by the school’s administration. You can consult this guide for more details.

The Post UTME forms are intended for candidates who have chosen Maritime Academy of Nigeria–MAN as their preferred institution during the 2023/2024 UTME registration or have utilized JAMB’s change of course and institution form to switch to MAN.

Specific Requirements for MAN Post UTME

Senior School Certificate Examination or it’s equivalent and JAMB Subject Combination.

1. Nautical Science: 

A candidate must have obtained five (5) credit passes in the following subjects at Senior School Certificate Examination or an equivalent:

  • English Language
  • Mathematics
  • Geography
  • A minimum of two sittings to obtain Physics and any other relevant Science subjects.

UTME Subject Combination:

  • English Language
  • Mathematics
  • Geography
  • Physics

2. Marine Engineering

A candidate must have obtained five (5) credit passes in the following subjects at Senior School Certificate Examination or an equivalent:

  • English Language
  • Mathematics
  • Physics
  • Chemistry any other relevant Science subjects

UTME Subject Combination:

  • English Language
  • Mathematics
  • Chemistry
  • Physics

3. Electrical/Electronic Engineering

A candidate must have obtained five (5) credit passes in the following subjects at Senior School Certificate Examination or an equivalent:

  • English Language
  • Mathematics
  • Physics
  • Chemistry any other relevant Science subjects

UTME Subject Combination:

4. Maritime Transport and Business Studies

A candidate must have obtained five (5) credit passes in the following subjects at Senior School Certificate Examination or an equivalent:

  • English Language.
  • Mathematics.
  • Government, Principles of Account, Economics/Commerce, and two other relevant subjects.

UTME Subject Combination:

  • English Language.
  • Mathematics.
  • Economics.
  • Commerce/Government/ Principles of Account.

Physical and Medical Fitness

1. Applicants must undergo medical testing at any government hospital and upload their medical status on the application portal.

2. The application portal dashboard contains a list of medical tests that must be performed.

3. Applicants should print out the Application Medical Examination Form (Form M) from the application portal.

4. This form must be fully completed and signed before being uploaded to the portal.

Marital Status

Only unmarried candidates are eligible to apply and must maintain their single status for the entire duration of the programme.

Age Limit for Each Programme

1. For the programs of Nautical Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, and Marine Engineering, applicants are required to be within the age range of 16 to 21 as of 20th November 2023.

2. For the Maritime Transport and Business Studies program, candidates must be between 16 and 25 years old as of 20th November 2023.

MAN Post UTME Eligibility Criteria

Candidates applying for admission into the Academy must possess an operational and reachable email address (E-mail) and phone number.

Applicants are required to possess the following:

a) Candidates must score a minimum of 180 marks in the 2022/2023 UTME to be eligible for:

Nautical Science, Marine Engineering and Electrical/Electronics Engineering

b) Candidates must have scored at least 160 marks in the 2023/2024 UTME for the following programs:

Maritime Transport and Business Studies.

c) Candidates must have at least five (5) credit passes in relevant subjects in the Senior School Certificate Examination or its equivalent, obtained in not more than two sittings within the last five years.

d) It is mandatory for applicants to have the correct JAMB subject combinations for their chosen courses.

How to Register for the MAN Post UTME Admission Form

The online application portal for the National Diploma programme will open on August 1st, 2023. Follow the steps below to apply:

Step 1: Visit the website www.maritimeacademy.gov.ng to access the online application form.

Step 2: Read the registration and payment guidelines carefully before starting your application.

Step 3: Use your JAMB registration number as your username (e.g. 33333333MA) to login for ND applicants.

Step 4: Your JAMB score will serve as your password (e.g. 390).

Candidates who fail to complete their registration will be disqualified from the admission process.

It is important to note that the Academy maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards drug abuse, bullying, and other forms of social violence.

Any applicant found guilty of such misconduct will automatically forfeit their cadetship.
