UNILORIN Gets Sanctioned By ASUU for Lawlessness.

The Academic Staff Union Of Universities (ASUU), has banned the University Of Ilorin (UNILORIN) from academic and non academic activities while directing its members to boycott the activities at the institution.

ASUU disclosed this after a resolution reached at the end of its Awka National Executive Council meeting in a statement by the Chairman University of Ibadan Chapter of the union, Dr Deji Omole.

According to ASUU, this sanction was as a result of lawlessness, arbitrariness, violation of human and trade union rights as well as the persecution of loyal members.

The Chairman of the union Dr. Omole announced that the union has directed its members to boycott all Unilorin based journal, newsletters, quarterlies, adding that no article from the academic staff of the university will be approved.

He lamented that the university has continued to prevent ASUU from functioning on its campus, and also collecting check-off money forcefully from its academic staff without remitting it to the union.

The union therefore instructed all the members including those serving in private universities to comply to this new development.
