When I’m Under You

When I’m Under You – Poem by Emmanuel Ambrose

I’m a fool for now,
’cause there’s a time to be wise.
Now I play along so that I can scale
through, but you’ll be a fool to
think that I’m a fool to you.

Take humility to the furthest-
humiliation, still, I know my destination.
Never think I’m helpless, thus, take
advantage of me.
But think that I’m hopeful, yet you
exert meanness on me because I look
to you for help.

Nothing is permanent. Not even I
being under you. When the time comes
for me to stand, I’ll definitely stand.

Cut me; not pruning, as well as you
plant me. But I’ll bear fruits which
your life will certainly depend on.

Behave like a Monarch for now,
control me, let my entirety be subdued
and I be in submission to you. But I
remain as an atom; the smallest,
solid, indestructible part of me.

Hence, you’ll break at my least and
your influence will loose its holds
and you falter to humbleness, the type
they call “life lesson”

In that, you’ll confirm, that none can
alter what is meant to be.
