About Beyoncé

Beyoncé Giselle Knowles was born September 4, 1981, in Houston, Texas to parents Mathew and Tina Knowles. She has one sister, Solange Knowles.

About Beyoncé

When the legendary songstress was just eight years old, she and childhood friend and future Destiny’s Child member Kelly Rowland met LaTavia Roberson during an audition for a girl group.

The trio was put together with three other girls to form a group called Girl’s Tyme. They went on to compete in Star Search but didn’t win.

Although Girl’s Tyme didn’t last, the bond between Beyoncé, Kelly, LaTavia and a fourth member, LeToya Luckett, did.

With Beyoncé’s father Mathew Knowles at the helm, the group began auditioning for record labels in the hopes of landing a deal.

After brief stints with Elektra Records and Atlanta Records, Girl’s Tyme found a home on Dwayne Wiggins’s Grass Roots Entertainment in 1995.

The following year they began recording their first album under an agreement with Sony Music. During that time they landed a contract deal with Columbia Records.

In 1996, Girl’s Tyme changed their name to Destiny’s Child. They released their label debut, Killing Time, which was featured on the movie Men in Black followed by their self-titled debut album which featured the song, No, No, No.

These projects won them three Soul Train Lady of Soul awards and served as the beginning of their rise to stardom. During their ascent to the top, LeToya and LaTavia grew displeased with Mathew’s management style.

The pair was quickly replaced by Farrah Franklin and Michelle Williams and Destiny’s Child carried on as usual until Farrah was dismissed as well, leaving them as a trio.

Together, Beyoncé, Kelly, and Michelle recorded their hit song Independent Women Part I, which was featured on the Charlie’s Angels soundtrack in the year 2000.

During this time, Beyoncé began experimenting with acting. She appeared on MTV’s Carmen: A Hip Hopera alongside Mekhi Phifer before going on to appear in Austin Powers: Goldmember, The Fighting Temptations and other films.

In 2003 Beyoncé recorded her first solo work, which was a feature on Jay-Z’s song 03 Bonnie & Clyde.

She released her solo album, Dangerously in Love, shortly thereafter, selling 317,000 copies in the first week. Beyoncé was chosen to sing the National Anthem in February 2004 at Super Bowl XXXVIII in her native Houston.

During that time she was working on balancing her solo career and her career with Destiny’s Child, which was winding down.

She put solo music on hold to focus on putting her all into the group’s final project, Destiny Fulfilled, which came out on November 15, 2004. She continued to star in films and release new music throughout the mid-2000s.

In 2016 Beyoncé released her most personal work to date, a visual album called Lemonade. The album detailed her personal struggles with her husband’s infidelity, the loss of a pregnancy and more.

The album earned her a Grammy for the best urban contemporary album but did not win album of the year, losing out to Adele.

– Beyoncés Educational life

Beyoncé attended St. Mary’s Montessori School in Houston, where she enrolled in dance classes.

Her singing talent was discovered when dance instructor Darlette Johnson began humming a song and she finished it, able to hit the high-pitched notes.

Beyoncé’s interest in music and performing continued after winning a school talent show at age seven, singing John Lennon’s “Imagine” to beat 15/16-year-olds.

In fall of 1990, Beyoncé enrolled in Parker Elementary School, a music magnet school in Houston, where she would perform with the school’s choir.

She also attended the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts and later Alief Elsik High School.  Beyoncé was also a member of the choir at St. John’s United Methodist Church as a soloist for two years.

– How Beyoncé made her money

Beyoncé has made the majority of her money from her music career. In 2007, she went out on the road for The Beyoncé Experience, her very first worldwide tour.

The concert series brought in more than $24 million, Capital Xtra reported. It’s unclear how much of that went directly into Beyoncé’s pocket, but she certainly wasn’t hurting for cash after that.

This pattern continued with the Mrs. Carter World Tour, which was later named the most successful tour in music history, and the Formation World Tour bringing in a quarter of a billion dollars for Beyoncé, according to Forbes.

The 36-year-old also makes money from her stake in Tidal. The value of that investment increased significantly in 2017 when Sprint invested a whopping $200 million.

She’s also an investor in a company called WTRMLN WTR, though it’s not clear how much the company is worth or how high Beyoncé’s stake in the company is.

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Beyoncé is worth an astounding $500 million. Beyoncé is repeatedly listed as being among the highest-earning female celebrities annually
