INTRODUCTION

Information aids in the growth and scope of activities of corporate organizations. That is why it is being considered as a vital resource. It is as important as any physical variable in production process.

This is an indisputable fact as it is already evident incorporation such as the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), where information is considered as not only a component for obtaining acceptable profit levels but also as a resource for product development and for coping with competition.

The need for and value of information to corporate organizations is a fact widely accepted. This is because, the more information is acquired, appraised, organized, preserved and made available on-demand, and the more it is expected to create desirable results.

Thus, due to the nature, role, and importance of information in corporate organizations, libraries are established and funded.
