BSc Accounting

This unique, professionally-oriented course has been designed alongside the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) Undergraduate Partnership Programme (UPP).

It will provide you with a fast track to an accountancy qualification and the four-year degree offers you the opportunity of a full-year paid work placement in your third year of study.

Course requirements

A-level

Grades AAA. Native language A-levels are accepted. General Studies is normally accepted if one of four A-levels passed in the same sitting.

AS-level

3 AS-levels accepted in place of 1 A-Level if all taken in Year 13

Unit grade information

The University of Manchester welcomes the provision of unit information where available.  Like all other information provided by applicants, this may be taken into consideration when assessing your application.

Unit grades will not normally form part of offer conditions.

GCSE

To meet our Maths subject requirements we require GCSE Maths at Grade A (you will require a Grade 7 in the newly reformed GCSEs in England).

We can accept GCSE Applications of Maths and Methods in Maths at Grades AA if studied together in the same sitting. Please note the school does not accept Applied Maths e.g. WJEC Mathematics – Numeracy.

To meet the English language subject requirements you need a GCSE English Language at Grade B (you will require a Grade 6 in the newly reformed GCSEs in England).

International Baccalaureate

36 points overall with 6,6,6 in Higher Level subjects.

Students without GCSE/IGCSE Maths at grade A (or 7) and English Language at B (or 6) will need 6 in SL Maths* and 5 in SL English (Language A: English Language and Literature or Language A: Literature).

If Language B: English is offered at SL we would need you to achieve 6.

English language test validity

Please note that the test date for the IELTS or TOEFL qualification must be no more than two years before the start date of your degree course.

For all other English language qualifications listed above the test, the date must be no more than seven calendar years before the start date of your degree course.

MSc Innovation Management and Entrepreneur Course description

The MSc Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship is an exciting masters course offered by Alliance MBS – home to Europe’s largest number of innovation researchers.

It can be taken as a one-year full-time course or part-time over two years.

➛ Gain an understanding of how the innovation process works, how companies organize to take advantage of internal and external sources of innovation.

How to carry out technology investment appraisal and forecast future innovation trends

➛ Prepare for a variety of careers including a leader of innovative teams, an entrepreneur in a technology-driven organization, academic researcher or lecturer.

Course unit details

You will study for 180 credits in total.

➛ V8 core and optional units = 120 credits

➛ Dissertation = 60 credits

Academic entry qualification 

➛ The Manchester business school requires a First or Upper Second class honors degree (2:1, with 60% average) from a UK university or the overseas equivalent.

➛ When assessing your academic record we take into account your grade average, position in class, references and the standing of the institution where you studied your qualification.
