Undergraduate and graduate depict the level at which a student is in his long and strenuous voyage to obtain the knowledge about a subject and also to carve out a career for himself in his chosen field of study.

Basically, an undergraduate is one who is presently undertaking a course in a tertiary institution or simply a university student who has not yet taken the first degree. A graduate as the name implies is one who has successfully completed his/her first degree.

A Bachelor’s degree is always considered far knowledgeable than an associate degree. The students can also opt to study for bachelor’s after completing their associate program, this may also result in reduced duration and does not take beyond 2 more years to complete the same.

A graduate degree is for students who already have a bachelor’s degree from college who wants to study further in a specific area of his choice. Graduate degree courses are advanced courses that involve a lot of research work on the chosen field.

Graduate degree programs are of two categories, Master’s degree, and Doctoral degree. Master’s degree program lasts for 2 years to complete it whereas Doctoral programs may go beyond 6 years to complete it.

A graduate degree is a specialized version of the study on the discipline chosen in the bachelor’s The student gets to apply the fundamentals learned in the bachelor’s and gain more knowledge to implement something new.

  • Bachelor’s degree: You need a high school diploma, GED, or an associate’s degree to enter a bachelor’s program, and it takes about 4 years to complete.
