Electronics and Communication Engineering Course Update

Filed in Education by on May 4, 2021
Electronics and Communication Engineering: Electronics and Communication Engineering course focuses on electronics equipment, circuits and networks and their use in transmission of information.
This and many more like the eligibility, course curriculum and colleges offering this course in India I will discuss with you. Below is a hit point I will be focusing on

What is Electronics & Communication Engineering?

Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE) involves researching, designing, developing and testing electronic equipment used in various systems. EC engineers also conceptualize and oversee the manufacturing of communications and broadcast systems.
This stream of engineering deals with analog transmission, basic electronics, microprocessors, solid-state devices, digital and analog communication, analog integrated circuits, microwave engineering, satellite communication, antennae, and wave progression. It also deals with the manufacturing of electronic devices, circuits, and communications equipment.
In India, EC Engineering is offered by various colleges at the UG as well as PG level leading to BTech (4 years) and MTech (2 years) degrees respectively.

Required Skillset for Electronics & Communication Engineering

To be able to pursue EC Engineering, candidates must possess the following set of skills:

Teamwork A methodical mind
Attention to detail Aptitude for Mathematics
Innovation Time management
Communication Project management
Strong IT skills Inter-personal skills

Electronics & Communication Engineering: Eligibility Criteria

The basic eligibility requirement to pursue an EC Engineering program at the UG and PG level is:

  • Undergraduate (UG): Candidates must have qualified 10+2 examination from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as their main subjects. Besides this, students must also have secured minimum aggregate marks of 60% in the above subjects combined.
  • Postgraduate (PG): Candidates must have completed a BTech degree in the same specialization with a passing percentage in aggregate of the subjects studied at the degree level.

Degree obtained

B.Tech. in Electronics Engineering

B.Tech. in EC Engineering

The two courses share several common subjects (both being electronics-based), but the ECE course is more communication-oriented and focused, so much so that it was divided into a separate field.

I hope you are no more confused having read up to this point. You can also share this article with your friends on social media sure it will be helpful to them as well.
