This program is part of the larger HBHL initiative at McGill University, which aims to enhance our knowledge of brain function and dysfunction, and develop new treatments for brain-related diseases.

It provides fellows with exceptional resources and support to conduct innovative and interdisciplinary research in collaboration with top researchers in their fields.

Scholarship Award

Each fellowship provides a yearly benefit of 60,000 CAD.

Eligibility for the Scholarship

To be eligible for the HBHL Postdoctoral Fellowship Program, applicants must meet the following requirements:

1. Hold a PhD or equivalent degree (including a recognized health professional degree plus a medical specialty) from a university other than McGill University.

In exceptional circumstances, the fellowship may be awarded to an applicant who completed their PhD at McGill within the same research environment, provided a valid justification is provided (e.g., scientific or medical reasons, family obligations).

2. Have obtained their PhD no earlier than two years prior to the fellowship start date, unless there has been a career interruption due to reasons such as parental leave, illness, or health-related family responsibilities, which may warrant an extension of eligibility.
