About Junior Basic Training (JBT)

JBT is a Diploma level Educational course. This is one of the teacher training programs known as the JBT or Junior Basic Training course. After completing the Diploma course students qualifying for this training essentially get employed in schools imparting elementary education.

The duration of the Diploma course is for two years. In some colleges, they offer admission to students based on their academic performance, there are quite a few institutes that conduct an entrance examination for the same.

The graduates who are willing to pursue this course must have cleared their examination with 45% in total. Junior Basic Training course is important that provides many career opportunities to the candidates after its successful completion. There are many colleges and universities which are offering the JBT course in their off and on campuses in the country.

The Junior Basic training course provides future educators with the specialized education required to work in the education sector. Candidate’s prospective teacher’s complete on-site training as a part of their course before teaching in the classroom.

Admission procedure of Junior Basic Training (JBT) Course

Pass in 12th is the basic qualification required to pursue the JBT course. Admission to the course depends on the marks obtained in the qualifying exam.

Application forms can be collected either from the administrative office or web portal of the concerned institute. From the pool of received applications, candidates are shortlisted based on their marks.

Few Colleges or Universities offer admission based on entrance tests. Institutes under Himachal Pradesh Board of Education, offer admission to the JBT course based on one common entrance test, JBT CET. Hindi, English, Numerical Ability and General Awareness form the syllabus of JBT CET.

There will be a total of 100 questions that must be answered within 120 minutes. The test is carried out as a single paper having multiple-choice questions.

Those who qualify the test can obtain admission in preferred districts of Himachal Pradesh (subject to the availability of seats). The application fee for attending the test is Rs. 200/- which can be payable in the form of Demand Draft. After making fee payments, application forms can be collected from the official website of the HP board of education.

Filled up application forms must be sent to the mentioned address with necessary documents such as Demand Draft, Two self Addressed Envelopes, Admit Card (in duplicate), etc.
