Gani Fawehinmi Undergraduate Scholarship, which is fully funded by Gani Fawehinmi Foundation, is presently accepting applications from eligible students.

The Gani Fawehinmi Undergraduate Scholarship

The Gani Fawehinmi Undergraduate Scholarship is an esteemed yearly scholarship initiative that bears the name of Chief Abdul-Ganiyu “Gani” Oyesola Fawehinmi.

It constitutes one of the ongoing scholarship programs offered by the Board specifically designed for Nigerian undergraduate students.

Gani Fawehinmi, a prominent figure in Nigeria, was widely recognized as a novelist, philanthropist, social critic, accomplished human and civil rights lawyer, politician, and Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).

Additionally, the Gani Fawehinmi Scholarship board aims to provide sponsorship to 20 students pursuing diverse fields of study during the academic year.

A selected student will receive a one-time scholarship of ₦100,000, which is non-renewable.

Requirements for the Gani Fawehinmi Undergraduate Scholarship

To be eligible for the Fawehinmi Undergraduate Scholarship, you must satisfy the following requirements:

1. Individuals who have previously been awarded the scholarship are ineligible for further application.

2. Enroll as a full-time student in a Nigerian higher education institution.

3. Demonstrate a commendable academic record.

4. Belong to a low-income family.

5. The scholarship is available for students pursuing any course of study in universities, polytechnics, colleges of education, and monotechnics.

Documents Required for Gani Fawehinmi Scholarship

The necessary photocopies of documents to be enclosed with your scholarship application letter are outlined below:

1. A letter issued by your head of department, verifying your current identity card and ensuring accurate information regarding your CGPA for the previous academic session.

2. A letter from the Registrar of your university, certifying your full-time enrollment as a registered student.

3. Two (2) recent passport photographs, along with a copy of the registration form for the ongoing semester.

Application Deadline

August 18th of every year.
