Scholarship Duration

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must meet these requirements:

1. Hold Australian or New Zealand citizenship, or possess an Australian permanent resident visa or permanent humanitarian visa.

2. Identify as female.

3. Be enrolled in their second or third year of a law degree at Macquarie University Law School in Session 1 of 2024.

4. Plan to study full-time on-campus. However, exceptions for part-time study can be considered in cases such as caregiving responsibilities, long-term medical conditions, or current part-time employment in a law-related field.

5. Demonstrate personal qualities akin to Jennifer Barton, such as courage, determination, diligence, generosity of spirit, and serving as a role model or mentor.

6. Exhibit academic excellence with a minimum Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 65 or higher.

How to Apply

To apply for this scholarship, candidates should fill out the online Macquarie University Scholarship Application form. Successful applicants will be chosen based on:

1. A personal statement addressing the questions provided in the application form.

2. Submission of two recent reference letters.

3. Academic achievement.
