MSc Cyber Security Tuition Fee Bursaries Scholarship at University of Warwick in UK – 2016. The University of Warwick is delighted to announce tuition fee bursaries for a study on MSc Cyber Security Engineering, or MSc Cyber Security and Management (GCHQ Certified Pathway). UK or EU citizens are eligible to apply for these Bursaries.

The University of Warwick is a public research university in Coventry, England. It was founded in 1965 as part of a government initiative to expand access to higher education.

Course Level: Bursaries are available for pursuing MSc program.

Study Subject: Bursaries are awarded in the field of Cyber Security.

Scholarship Award: Funded by the UK Government Department for Culture, Media and Sport through the National Cyber Security Programme (NCSP), Warwick will be awarding six tuition fee bursaries of £12,200 each as part of a national project to encourage career transitioners into the Cyber Security profession. Tuition fees for 2016 entry are fully covered by the £12,200 bursary. Part-time tuition fees are partially covered by the £12,200 bursary – full MSc tuition fees on the Part-time programme over 3 years are £19,335 (non-residential).

Scholarship can be taken in the UK

Eligibility: Eligible applicants must satisfy the following criteria:

  • Hold an offer to study the GCHQ-certified MSc Cyber Security Engineering or the GCHQ-certified pathway through MSc Cyber Security and Management at the University of Warwick on the full-time programme starting October 2016, or the part-time programme starting during the academic year 2016/17.
  • Be a UK or EU citizen who is normally resident in the UK other than for the sole purpose of education.
  • Not be currently undertaking any other forms of formal education.
  • Have graduated from undergraduate studies in 2015 or before.
  • Not have previously held employment as a cyber security professional (i.e. cyber security must be less than 50% of any previous job function / role).

Preference will be given to applicants who satisfy any of the following:

  • Persons looking to retrain into the cyber security profession, for example, returners-to-work after parental leave, those who are currently unemployed, and mid-career transitioners
  • General IT practitioners looking to specialise in cyber security
  • Ex-armed forces personnel not already covered by any armed forces grant
  • Ex-police officers not already covered by any police service grant
  • Demographics currently underrepresented in the cyber security profession.

Nationality: UK or EU citizens are eligible to apply for these Bursaries.

College Admission Requirement

Entrance Requirements: Applicants should normally have obtained the equivalent of a UK first or second class honours degree in a science, engineering, IT, business or management discipline.

English language Requirements: If you are a non-native English speaker, you will need to submit an English test result equivalent to IELTS 6.5 with broadly consistent scores in the elements of the test. For MSc (not pre-sessional) entry, we accept IELTS, TOEFL iBT, Pearson Test in English (Academic), Cambridge Advanced (CAE), and Cambridge Proficiency (CPE).

Test Requirements: University requires English qualification for non-native English speakers. For MSc (not pre-sessional) entry, we accept IELTS, TOEFL iBT, Pearson Test in English (Academic), Cambridge Advanced (CAE), and Cambridge Proficiency (CPE).

How to Apply: Applicants will need to provide:

  • A completed application form & application fee.
  • A Personal Statement, which can be included in the online application.
  • A scan of your transcript of marks awarded so far (if you are currently studying) OR an original copy of your final transcript / degree certificate* (if you have completed your studies).
  • English test result (if applicable)
  • Two references. If you completed studies less than 2 years ago, these should be academic references. If you graduated more than 2 years ago, we will accept professional references.
