It’s surrounding and luxury is second to none plus the event there is just wonderful, so if you’re not traveling because of the Dubai beauty and luxury, you should hit the city because of its event.

1. New Year’s Eve Royal Gala at Atlantis

If you’re looking for really magnificent plans to usher in the New Year, The Palm’s Atlantis is holding an evening that will hit the mark. The iconic hotel is going all out for its New Year’s Eve Royal Gala: imagine 30-piece live band, luxury buffet serving everything from lobster to shawarma, live cooking stations and an unequalled view of The Palm’s world-renowned fireworks view

​2. New Year’s Eve Fireworks at Burj Khalifa

Be ready for the most expected fireworks show of the year. Back again to woo and wow the crowd is Burj Khalifa’s famous New Year’s Eve fireworks spectacle. Downtown Dubai and the iconic tower will be set ablaze by a bright show of sparkling lights that appeals hundreds of thousands of visitors from all over the world. Once again the show assures a mind-blowing performance to remember the end of another year.

Organized by Emaar, the fireworks show is organized by a world-class team of specialists. Special viewing platforms will be set up across Downtown Dubai for the occasion but endeavor to arrive early the day of as spaces fill up fast.

3. Dubai World Cup Carnival at Meydan Racecourse

January marks the start of the Dubai World Cup Carnival, a three-month horseracing competition value over US$10 million in prize money across ten race meetings. The Dubai World Cup Carnival leads up to the Dubai World Cup worth USD$35 million, one of the richest racing days in the world.

Part of the city’s very competitive horseracing season, the 24th version will comprise of over 23 races (12 meets fall under the domestic season) at the innovative racecourse motivated by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

4. Momoland Live in Concert

Amongst the first string of concerts marking the start of 2019, K-Pop girl group Momoland is coming down in Dubai for their first ever concert in the Middle East, ‘Momoland Live Concert’. Catch the viral feelings behind ‘Bhoom Bhoom’, a platinum-certified single with over 250 million views on its YouTube music video at Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium for one night only.

Momoland originally launched with seven artists through the 2016 reality show Finding Momoland. Just a couple months after their formation, the group was selected as ambassadors for the International Relief Development NGO Plan Korea. In only two years, Momoland grew to the top of K-pop charts around the world with the release of ‘Bhoom Bhoom’ in January 2018.

Since then, the now nine performer act has gotten  international recognition and a series of accolades like “Idol Group of the Year” at Korea Brand Awards and Soribada’s “Best Artist” Award to name a few.

5. AFC Asian Cup Matches

Prepared by the Asian Football Confederation, the AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019 promises three weeks of amazing  international football – right on our doorstep. January 2019 sees the UAE hosting the largest ever Asian Football Championship, its 17th tournament,  taking place over 28 days, with 51 matches, 24 national teams, 8 stadiums and 4 cities across the UAE.

Under the title  “UAE Home of Football” and “Bringing Asia Together “this version  of the world’s second longest running men’s football competition in the world represents the second time the UAE has played host, with its first run as hosts back in 1996. 

With teams from countries as various and as Australia, Uzbekistan, North and South Korea, Philippines, India and Vietnam, we are sure to see some wonderful matches. The UAE is in Group A of six groups, pitted against Thailand, India and Bahrain. Dubai will host 11 matches in two stadiums – Al Maktoum and Rashid – with an expected audience in surplus of 126,000 fans.
