In the past, JAMB asked candidates to buy scratch cards from banks and do their registration in the cybercafé. It observed that cybercafés often exploit candidates by charging them excessive fees and have put an end to it.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, says it introduced the new e-PIN vending registration for candidates to prevent fraud in its examination.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB) is a Nigerian entrance examination board for tertiary-level institutions.

JAMB Pin Vending Closing Date and Cost

According to JAMB, all candidates, including those registering in foreign countries are to register for the exam between Thursday, April 8th, 2021 and Saturday, May 15th, 2021.

JAMB PIN vending ends Friday 10th May while the registration portal closes on Saturday 15th May 2021.

If you do not get the JAMB e-PIN on or before May 10th (for candidates yet to register), you will not be able to register for the 2021 UTME/DE even though the actual registration deadline is May 15th.

This is because no accredited CBT registration centre will accept your request for UTME/DE registration without an e-PIN.

JAMB Pin Vending Points and their Duties

The selling outlets where you can get JAMB ePIN are:

1. NIPOST and eleven Participating Banks (ACCESS, FCMB, FIDELITY, FIRSTBANK, JAIZ, Polaris, Stanbic IBTC, STERLING, UNION and UNITY).

2. Mobile Money Operators: Paga, e-Transact, Pocket Moni, TEASYPay, Packway Projects (Readycash) and Xpress payment solutions.

3. Participating Micro Finance Banks: Trust MFB, Zazzau MFB, Obeledun MFB and Regent MFB.

4. Online Payment Platforms: System Specs (Remita), InterSwitch (Quickteller) Upper-link, e-Transact and United Payment Services (UPS).

5. Cooperative Society: JAMB Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society.

6. Others: Unique ICT, Digital Partners Network.

7. POS (Citi-Serve).

8. ATMs of banks listed in (1) above (InterSwitch).

9. USSD (ERCAS) for mobile banking.

10. Nigerian Embassies in Abidjan, Accra, Addis Ababa, Beau, Cotonou, Jeddah, Johannesburg, and London.

Duties of Participating Banks/Outlets

  1. Collect the Profile Code from the candidate’s phone.
  2. Get payment and vend ePIN by SMS to candidate’s phone (Not dictating or copying)
  3. Facilitate POS Payment, if necessary
  4. Issue Evidence of Payment
  5. Delivery of ePIN to candidates. (This should not be Handwritten)

How to Get JAMB ePIN for Registration

1. PAYMENT THROUGH BANKS INCLUDING MICRO FINANCE BANKS:

  • Present Profile Code and pay by cash or card
  • ePIN is then delivered to the candidate’s unique telephone number

2. PAYMENT THROUGH POS: This is available at State Offices of JAMB and CBT Centres, other POS outlets and any CBT Centre that demands it

  • Present Profile Code and pay by card
  • ePIN is then delivered to the candidate’s unique telephone number

3. PAYMENT THROUGH MOBILE MONEY OPERATORS: This is available at CBT Centres and Other Outlets

  • Present Profile Code and pay by cash
  • ePIN is then delivered to the candidate’s unique telephone number

4. PAYMENT USING ATM: This is available on all ATM outlets of Participating Banks listed in C(I) (InterSwitch Channel)

  • Select Bill Payment and then pick JAMB
  • Enter Profile Code and pay
  • ePIN is then delivered to the candidate’s unique telephone number

5. ONLINE PAYMENT ON JAMB PORTAL

  • Visit the JAMB website: jamb.gov.ng
  • Click Purchase of 2021 Application Document
  • Enter your Profile Code
  • Select payment method (InterSwitch or Remita)
  • Make payment
  • ePIN is then delivered to the candidate’s unique telephone number

6. PAYMENT PROCEDURE AT FOREIGN CENTRES

  • Foreign candidates visit www.jamb.gov.ng/efacility
  • create a profile
  • Login to the profile
  • On the menu on the left pane, click on 2021 Foreign UTME/DE registration
  • Go through guided questions until the payment page
  • Make payment using any of the authorized cards
  • Complete the registration directly online

Recover Lost E-pin After Payment

1. If ePIN is not Received or Lost, send [UTMEPIN] or [DEPIN] to 55019 for UTME or DE respectively from the unique number

2. The ePIN would then be retrieved and delivered on the candidate’s unique number

AFTER SUCCESSFUL PAYMENT AND OBTAINING ePIN, CANDIDATE SHOULD PROCEED TO ANY OF THE JAMB ACCREDITED CBT CENTRES TO COMPLETE HIS/HER REGISTRATION.
