Every student feels that they’ve been encountering the most challenging tests to have ever existed. However, deep within, we all know that there are some exams that are more difficult than others.

Examinations have been the source of pressure and anxiety for many teenagers globally.

1. IES (Indian Engineering Services)

Indian Engineering Services (IES) is nothing but the civil services who take care of the technical and managerial services of the Indian Government.

So the government has to be selective while picking its top officials through the highly competitive IES exams on the basis of the merit of the appearing candidates.

The test is grouped into 6 parts within 2 phases. Only the candidates who clear the first phase are qualified to appear for the second phase.

The practical aspect of this exam lasts for 8 hours and has a 1% clearing rate.

4. GATE- Gratitude Aptitude Test in Engineering

GATE is an all India level examination which serves as an entrance test for Indian students chasing engineering.

The test is an open door for post-graduate courses for the candidates who clear the test.

The test is a combined venture between The Indian Institute of Science and the 7 IITs (Indian Institute of Technology) across the country.

There is one particular paper which comprises both MCQs and numerical questions.

5. Gaokao

This examination is a compulsory exam which is to be given by every high school student in China. The test is compulsory if the student wishes to pursue higher education.

8. CFA- Chartered Financial Analyst

9. All Souls Prize Fellowship Exam

It needs a tremendous amount of factual knowledge and a highly imaginative mind. Only two candidates are nominated for fellowship every year.

10. Master Sommelier Diploma Exam

An average candidate who gives the Master Sommelier Diploma Exam gives up after the 5thor 6th attempt.

The exam is grouped into 3 sections: theory, service and blind tasting. Since it is an exam of skilled winemakers, students not only have to identify the taste, but also the year and region of the wine.

Ever since its commencement in 1940, only 200 candidates have cleared this exam, that too in their 3rd or 4th attempt.

These exams certainly aren’t every person’s piece of cake.
