Question 4: Did You Use the Asca National Model, and How Did the Students Perform?
Answer: No doubt, I followed the ASCA National Model in my previous counseling position as well. It helped me to guide a student to find the right college and to apply successfully.
The student was as excited and grateful as could be when he got admitted, which showed how the model can bring passion into a student’s life.
Question 5: What Are the Most Important Qualities Required to Be a School Counselor, and in What Way Are They Beneficial for the Students?
Answer: The most important thing about a counselor is that they should be a good listener. Students should be listened to and their concerns should be understood.
Listening is a key element in cultivating trust, which eventually enables students to feel safe enough to open up about their problems and receive the needed support.
Question 6: In Case the School’s Regulations Do Not Correspond With Counseling Policies, Which One Would You Follow?
Answer: Normally, I find that they both go hand in hand, but in case of a conflict, I’ll always try to adhere to the guidelines that have the most positive impact on students.
Question 7: How Will You Advocate for the Student’s Unity as a Counselor?
Answer: I suggest that I should give a talk on diversity and the importance of unity once a month.
I will also converse with students who have suffered the consequences of discrimination, being able to explain to them how they have been harmed.

Answer: Having the best counseling plan is the one where students can get help at any time they need it.
This is the way we will be able to boost college attendance and help students make up their minds about what they want to do in life.
Question 12: What Made You Choose School Counseling as a Career and What Made You Decide to Pursue This Line of Work?
Answer: I got into this job because I experienced the beneficial influence that counselors had on me while I was in school.
I went through a rough time during college when I was not sure about my life and they were there to listen and guide me.
Question 13: What Would You Say to a Person Who is Going Through a Similar Situation? How Will Your Experience Help You Become a Better Counselor?
Answer: I have worked with students individually, and I have been especially close to students in a low-income community.
This experience was an eye-opener for me as I learned how to help students with limited resources, giving the greatest attention to those who needed a counselor the most.
