The Ebonyi State Civil Service Commission invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the positions below:

Job Title: Facility Manager

Location: Abakaliki, Ebonyi

Objective
The Ebonyi State Government’s objective is to engage a competent shopping mall Manager to be responsible for the efficient and cost-effective use of facilities, maintenance of the facility, storing and distributing consignment of goods and materials, ensuring timely delivery of orders, maintain stocks of inventories, securing and leasing of stalls as required by the State Government
Scope of Service

  1. Overseeing and agreeing on contracts and providers for services including security, parking, cleaning: catering, technology and so on.
  2. Supervising multi-disciplinary staff including cleaning, maintenance, grounds and security staff
  3. Ensuring that basic facilities, such as water, air-conditioning and heating are well-maintained.
  4. Managing budgets and ensuring cost-effectiveness
  5. Allocating and managing space between buildings
  6. Ensuring that facilities meet government regulations and environmental health and security standards
  7. Advising businesses on increasing energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness
  8. Renovation or refurbishment of the mall if necessary.
  9. Helping businesses to relocate to new offices and to make decisions about leasing.
  10. Leasing out the mall spaces.

Requirements
Experience:

  1. Companies with specific experience in managing similar assignments in the last 5 years,
  2. Good knowledge and experience in finance, administration, and human resource management
  3. Experience in contract management

Personnel Specifications, Attributes and Competencies
There preferred company shall have personnel with the following Attributes and competencies:

  1. High level of integrity
  2. Strong interpersonal and negotiating ability
  3. Critical thinking and problem solving
  4. Planning and organizing skills
  5. Performance focused
  6. Attention to detail and also able to see the implications for the bigger picture.

Institutional Framework:

  1. The Manager is to report to Ebonyi State Government through the Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Trade and Investment, or any other Ministry as directed by the State Government

Reporting Requirement:

  1. The Manager will be required to submit monthly financial and management reports to the employer.

Additional Information:

  1. The Manager will be based in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State.
  2. Facilities to be provided by the employer
  3. Office accommodation shall be provided.

General Requirements for Ebonyi State Civil Service

To register and be a part of this program, candidates must:

Possess either a B.Sc, HND, NCE, OND concerning the applied position from a recognized institution.

Not be older than 30 years;

Have been unemployed for a minimum of 1-year after NYSC/Exemption Certificate.

West African School Certificate (WAEC) with Credits in not less than three (3) subjects including English and at least passes in two (2) other subjects.

Candidates must have National Examination Council (NECO) with passes in four (4) subjects obtained at one sitting or five (5) subjects obtained at two sittings including the English Language.)

National Diploma (ND) obtained from a recognized institution.

National Certificate of Education (NCE) from a recognized institution.

All candidates must have a valid means of identification such as a valid driver license, National Identification Card, International passport, Voters card etc.

Ability to work with basic computer applications (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.).

Geographical mobility within and outside Nigeria.
