The Industrial Training Fund (ITF) and Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association (NECA), in collaboration with training centres, invite applications from qualified young Nigerians of sound character and learning for the following programs below:

1. ITF-NECA Technical Skills Development Programme (Medium-Heavy Duty Diesel Trucks and Mechatronics)

Objectives

1. The programme is part of the employment and development initiatives of the ITF-NECA through a 12-month automotive training programme aimed at training and building skills in interested youths who are desirous of pursuing careers as Specialist Technicians in diesel maintenance/repair, vehicle diagnosis and telematics.
2. The programme will also equip trainees with entrepreneurial skills and hands-on experience required in setting up their own businesses/service garages at the end of the training period.

The Programme

1. The programme is a combination of class work with practical attachments.
2. Courses covered include: Diesel Engines, Powertrain, Brake and Hydraulic Applications, Auto Electronics Technology, Truck Preventive Maintenance, Advanced Diagnostic Systems, etc.
3. A 2-month attachment is built into the programme for hands-on experience through internship with reputable firms, Transport and Motor Companies.
4. This programme is entirely non-residential and trainees will be responsible for their accommodation.
5. Tuition is FREE and students are supported with free lunch and monthly transport stipends.

Requirements
Eligible candidates who must be between 18 and 35 years of age are required to possess any of the following qualifications:

1. HND or B.Sc in Science or Technology/Engineering related fields
2. National Technical Certificate in Auto related Trade or OND with cognate experience
3. In addition, good numerical ability and communication skills will be an added advantage.

2. Title: Technical Training Programme

Location: Abuja
Description

1. We invites applications from self-driven, motivated and qualified young individuals from Nigeria who have sound character and learning agility to undertake an intensive 18- month training programme on Technical Skills Development at our Technical Training Center in Abaji-Abuja, FCT.

Objectives

1. To train and equip youths with employable technical skills
2. To promote a Public Private Sector Model in Vocational / Technical Skills Training and contribute to capacity development in our country.

The Programme

1. The programme will focus on two (2) core disciplines: Electrical and Instrumentation operations, Automation and Control Systems activities.
2. The course will last for 18 months.
3. Trainees will be engaged in rigorous theoretical and practical training.
4. Trainees will be exposed to industrial work experience in the various processes within our factory location.
5. Trainees will participate in continuous assessment processes and appraisals
6. The training programme will lead to the award of a Nestle Certificate of Participation in addition, we will prepare and enroll trainees for City and Guilds of London Technician Awards in Engineering.

Entry Requirements

1. Candidates must have obtained their OND not earlier than 2016.
2. Minimum of Lower Credit in Ordinary National Diploma (OND) issued by a Nigerian Polytechnic in any of the following (or related) field of study;
   1. Mechanical Engineering
   2. Electrical and Electronics Engineering /Electrical / Installation & Maintenance Engineering
   3. Applied Mechanical and Electrical Engineering (Mechatronics)
   4. Applied Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics Engineering
   5. Industrial Measurement and Control/Instruments
   6. Mechanics Work
   7. Automation Engineering
3. In addition, candidates are mandatorily required to have five (5) 0-Level credits or its equivalent obtained in one (1) sitting in the following subjects:
   1. Physics
   2. Mathematics
   3. English Language
   4. Chemistry
   5. Further Mathematics/Technical Drawing/Biology
