Job Title: Branch Manager

Location: Across all branches in Nigeria

Job Type: Full time

Job Description

Successful candidates will be a part of the core team set to:

  1. Deliver value to our customers.
  2. Expand our current business/client portfolio.
  3. Enhance our position in our chosen target markets and
  4. Generate new sales revenues.

Job Objective(s)

  1. To establish and maintain positive customer relationships towards the growth revenue of the bank, plan and deliver an effective marketing strategy and monitor the progress of new and existing products; as well as provide operational management support on a day-to-day basis.

Responsibilities

  1. Prepare annual marketing plans and strategies for liability generation to enable Profit Centre Manager/Relationship Officers to achieve targeted growth objectives.
  2. Develop and obtain approval for annual marketing plans and strategies for designated product ranges to enable the achievement of targeted growth and profit objectives.
  3. Monitor and control business office income and expenditure to ensure profitability.
  4. Recommend the creation of risk assets to increase business office profitability.
  5. Visit business customers and attend meetings.
  6. Contribute to the effective launching of new products to ensure favourable market response and optimum build-up of revenue.
  7. Facilitate establish and maintain effective relationships with new and existing customers.
  8. Evaluate market research and competitor analyses to formulate marketing plans and strategies.
  9. Assume overall accountability for branch expenditure on products and services such as the administration of consumer lending, current account transactions, overdrafts, credit cards and personal loans
  10. Monitor and assign targets to Profit Centre Managers/Relationship Officers to ensure effective focus on target achievement.
  11. Maintain and acquire customer relationships to improve deposit liability growth and mix.
  12. Provide strategic direction and operational support to employees.
  13. Define and implement the delivery of marketing strategies and targets.
  14. Coach and motivate employees to effectively execute their day-to-day tasks to meet corporate targets and delivery objectives.
  15. Effectively communicate to employees the corporate policies, objectives and targets of the bank.

Qualifications

  1. First Degree in any Social Sciences related discipline.
  2. A Master’s Degree or professional certification is an added advantage.
  3. Minimum of 10 years relevant experience.

Technical Skills:

  1. Ability to evaluate the needs of customers, and determine what products or services would best serve those needs.
  2. IT and Computer appreciation.
  3. Communications skills (written and oral).
  4. Selling and marketing skills.
  5. Knowledge of the business environment.
  6. Attention to detail.
  7. Supervisory skills.
  8. Knowledge of banking operations, policies and procedures.
  9. Knowledge of bank products and services.
  10. Business development and acquisition.
  11. Relationship management.

Job Description

Job Objective(s)

  1. Approach customers with the aim of winning new business.
  2. Meet with existing customers to strengthen business relationships with a view to increasing the financial growth of the bank.
  3. Aggressively market the bank’s products to ensure favourable market response and optimum build-up of revenue.
  4. Follow up customers with dormant accounts, convince them to resume dealings with the bank.
  5. Implement marketing strategies/programs laid out by the bank to boost profit.
  6. Listen to customer requirements and present appropriately to make a sale.
  7. Achieve set deposit targets/contributions by acquiring business/investment deals from private, public, individuals and corporates.
  8. Prepare documentation on the creation of risk assets to increase business office profitability.
  9. Sell/cross-sell and upsell the bank’s products.
  10. Market the brand.
  11. Perform other related duties as assigned by the business manager.

Qualifications

  1. First Degree in any relevant course of study with a minimum qualification of Second Class Lower.
  2. 5 – 7 years of Relationship Management experience in a commercial bank.

Technical Skills:

  1. Basic knowledge of accounting, finance and economics.
  2. Banking operations, policies and procedures.
  3. Good knowledge of the bank’s products and services.
  4. Business development and acquisition.
  5. Marketing, selling and cross-selling.
  6. Knowledge of current business trends and CBN Regulatory laws.
  7. Ability to evaluate the needs of customers, and determine what products or services would best serve those needs.
  8. Excellent communication skills – oral and written.
  9. Must be strong, tenacious and persuasive.
  10. Strong selling/marketing skills.
  11. Must be self-driven, and have a passion for marketing.
  12. Good relationship management skills.
  13. Confident and possess excellent networking skills.
