The Director-General, National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim has raised the alarm over the increase in certificate forgery cases. In other for you to avoid bringing to the camp fake NYSC certificates you need to verify your call up latter at NYSC official portal.

Fake NYSC Certificates

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has handed over 65 people to the Police for allegedly presenting fake certificates.

According to a report by The Nation, the suspects were picked from different NYSC camps all over the country throughout the year 2019 orientation course. The NYSC said the fraud was discovered by its verification officers in some of the camps during registration.

Some of those facing prosecutions include Nasiru Yau, Sheu Muktar, Iliyasu Usman, Offor Blessing Chinelo, Mezenwa Ngozi Chidinma, Nwachukwu Chimaobi Curtis, Ononuju Amarachi Nwamaka, Francis Joseph Arinze, and Chigozie Evidence Chijioke.

The NYSC is a one-year mandatory scheme for all Nigerians who graduate from tertiary institutions in or outside the country before the age of 30.

NYSC Certificate Verification Portal

To login to your account at NYSC portal, follow the steps below;

1. Go to portal.nysc.org.ng,
2. Click on login icon,
3. Enter your Email Address and Password in the space provided,
4. Click on “Resume”

Once you click on “Resume”, it will take you to your dashboard.

Note: The email address and password required are those you created during online registration.

How to Print NYSC Call-Up Letter

1. Go to the NYSC portal at https://portal.nysc.org.ng
2. Login to your dashboard with your registered e-mail and password
3. Click on “Print Call Up Letter” link to print your Call-up letter.

Things to Note before Going to NYSC Orientation Camp

• If you studied in Nigeria, you should come to camp with; Degree/HND Certificates or Statement of Results, School/Final year Identity Card, Call-up letter, Green Card, Medical Certificate of Fitness, eight (8) Passport photograph.
• Foreign graduates should come to camp with; Original copies of all the documents uploaded during on-line registration for verification.
• Foreign graduates are to ensure that academic paper(s) in Languages other than English be translated into the English Language, both versions must be presented for verification at the camp.
• Medical/veterinary Doctors, Dentists, Pharmacists, Optometrists, Physiotherapists Nurses and Public Environmental Health graduates should report to camp with their professional licenses or certificates of full registration issued by their professional bodies.
