NYSC Registration for Foreign Students 2024 Procedure and Requirements

Are you a graduate who abroad and you are about participating in the NYSC scheme. If yes, then this article is for you. This article contains all the answers you have been asking regarding NYSC registration for foreign students and everything you need to know.

Also, you need to know that graduates whose institutions or courses are not listed on the NYSC Portal should not choose any other institution or course, but should obtain an evaluation letter from the Federal Ministry of Education and forward the same to the NYSC for upload.

NYSC Registration for Foreign Students

The Originals and photocopies of the following documents are required for registration and mobilization of foreign-trained graduates into the National Youth Service Corps (please note that downloaded Certificates/Transcripts, Statement of result and Attestation letters are not acceptable); viz:

  1. First university degree or HND certificate.
  2. Complete official transcription of the First Degree or HND course.
  3. Mark sheet (for Indian universities only).
  4. O’ level certificate i.e. WASC, GCE, SSCE, NECO, IGCE, GCSE, high school diploma for those schooled in the USA etc.
    Note That Online result Print-out is not acceptable in place of the original certificate
  5. Candidates must obtain credit in not less than five(5) subjects (including English and mathematics) in not less than two(2) sittings.
  6. Please note that persons who did a ‘Top-up’ programme/Course are required to upload their foundation Certificate e.g APTECH, OND, NIIT, INFORMATICS etc.
  7. Medical doctors and optometrists are required to produce in addition, evidence of completion of house manship, registration certificate with the medical and dental council of Nigeria/Optometrists Association of Nigeria as applicable.
  8. Pharmacists shall produce in addition, evidence of completion of internship and registration certificate with Pharmacists Council of Nigeria.
  9. Nurses are to present the original Licence and Certificate of registration with the Nursing/Midwifery council of Nigeria.
  10. Medical Laboratory Scientists are also to present their Licence and certificate of registration with Medical laboratory scientists Council of Nigeria.

Other Documents Required

  1. Entry visa to the country of study.
  2. First Departure Date from Nigeria.
  3. Date of return to Nigeria after the period of study.
  4. Date page of the passport.
  5. Graduates with dual nationality are required to Up-load Data pages of both International Passports and present the Passport for verification at the Camp (where more than one international Passports were used during the period of study, candidates should upload Data Pages of the International Passports.
  6. Residence Permit (for Graduates from Institutions located within West African Countries Only).

Application Procedure

Here is how the process of registering as a foreign student works

  • First Step: Since you can register online, you should visit the official NYSC website and complete your application.
  • Second Step: Begin with registering an account. You will need to provide a real email address, choose a passcode and Nigerian phone number.
  • Third Step: You should upload all those documents as listed above.
  • Fourth Step: Once you have uploaded your personal details and all the required documents, you should wait for your call-up number and letter.
  • Fifth Step: Visit the Orientation Camp with the original documents and successfully serve the year as NYSC corp.

Keep an eye on the registration deadline because once the NYSC registration portal closes, registration becomes unavailable.
