He said the decision was to appreciate and encourage them for their contributions to the socio-economic development of the State.

The Governor stated this in his address during the closing ceremony of 2019 Batch “B” Stream
One held at NYSC Orientation Camp in Tsafe.

He also disclosed that the State Government will soon complete the abandoned hostel project and initiate the construction of more hostels for Corps Members, Camp Officials and a modern kitchen that would make the camp environment habitable for its Orientation Course participants.

Bello enjoined the Corps Members to explore every opportunity of the service year to make conscious interactions with their host communities with laudable projects that will improve their living standards.

He advised them to utilise the diverse skills acquired during the Orientation Course period through Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development programme of the NYSC Scheme to empower themselves for wealth creation.

“We appreciate NYSC for being committed to our cause to move Zamfara State to the next level”.

“On our part, we will ensure the payment of special allowances to Corps Members serving in rural communities as a show of appreciation and encouragement”.

“The Agriculture, Education, Health and Basic Infrastructures in the State are in dire need of your services and I believe you will justify the confidence reposed in you in this direction”, the Governor stated.

The Governor was represented at the ceremony by the Secretary to the State Government, Hon Bala Bello Maru.

While speaking with pressmen after the closing ceremony, NYSC DG, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim urged the Corps Members to serve their fatherland with dignity and as good ambassadors of the NYSC Scheme.
