List of After School Africa Undergraduate Scholarships
Over the years Afterschool Africa has provided undergraduate scholarships updates to different students across the world in different fields of study. Scholarships provided here are available for African students, International students, and developing countries.
1. Makerere University MasterCard Scholarships 2019/2020 for African Students
Makerere University, through the MasterCard Foundation, is offering full scholarships to young African undergraduates to educate and empower the next generation of African leaders at Makerere University.
Recipients of this scholarship are provided with comprehensive financial, academic as well as social and leadership development support for the entire period of their study at the University.
2. Denys Holland Scholarship for Financially Challenged Students 2019/2020 at University College London, UK
The Denys Holland Foundation is offering scholarship opportunities to financially challenged students who are willing to undertake undergraduate studies at University College, London.
The Denys Holland Scholarship aims to support undergraduate students from any country, who without the support of the scholarship would be unable to secure the funding required to study at UCL, and who can demonstrate their intention to make full use of the activities offered by UCL and the Student Union.
The Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM) is partnering with the MasterCard Foundation, Gulu University, and Egerton University to enhance the application of science, technology, business, and innovation for rural agriculture.

5. The Government of Brunei Darussalam Scholarships 2019/2020 for International Students
The Government of Brunei Darussalam is offering annual scholarships under a special scholarship award scheme.
The scholarship awards will provide applicants with the opportunity to study at University of Brunei Darussalam [UBD], Islam Sultan Sharif Ali university [UNISSA] Brunei Institute of Technology [ITB] and Politeknik Brunei (PB).

1. Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarship Scheme 2019 for Masters Students
Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarships give talented students from anywhere in the Commonwealth the opportunity to gain a Master’s degree while developing new skills, experiencing life in another country, and building their global networks.
Scholarships are for students committed to creating change in their communities and contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
2. Qalaa Holdings Scholarship Foundation (QHSF) Graduate Scholarships
The scholarship round has commenced. In addition to QHSF’s regular scholarship, the Foundation manages additional awards granted by Qalaa Holdings and its subsidiary companies.
Unless otherwise stated below, the same application process, schedule, eligibility criteria and conditions as QHSF’s apply to the following scholarships.
Each of these scholarships covers candidates’ tuition fees and living expenses. The MAHS award covers tuition fees only.
3. Australia Awards Scholarships (Masters and Short Courses) for 1,000 African Students.
There are two categories of Award: Australian Awards Scholarships for Masters to undertake higher degree studies in Australia at Masters level. And Australia Awards Scholarships for Short Courses, to undertake short-term, targeted professional training courses, in Australia and/or in Africa, in a range of development-focused sectors.
Australia Awards Scholarships, a cornerstone of the Australian Government’s development assistance program for Africa, provide access to postgraduate education, training and professional development opportunities for suitably qualified Africans from eligible countries.
On their return to the workplace, Australia Awards Scholarships Alumni are expected to contribute actively to development in their home countries.
4. Chinese Government African Union Scholarships (Masters and Ph.D.) for African Students
The Government of The People’s Republic of China has made scholarship offers to the African Union Commission, through the Department of Human Resources, Science and Technology.
The Chinese Government African Union Scholarships will enable African students to study in China in the 2018/2019 Academic Year.
The scholarships are intended for studies leading to the award of Masters and Doctoral Degrees.
The scholarship will cover the cost related to teaching and the administration of the university and the living expenses of the students from the fund of the foreign aid, supervising the thesis.
5. AGIP Postgraduate Scholarships for Young Nigerian Students (Study in Nigeria & Overseas)
The Nigerian AGIP Exploration Limited, Operator of the NNPC/NAE/Oando PSC Is Offering 2019-2020 Postgraduate Scholarship Award Scheme for Nigerian graduate students to study in Nigeria and Overseas
Nigerian Agip Exploration (NAE) Limited, along with its PSC partners, initiated this scholarship programme to help build capacities of young and brilliant Nigerians and further boost the pool of qualified manpower for deep offshore activities in the Nigerian Oil & Gas industry.

1. New York University CSAAD Research Fellowship 2019 for African Researchers
The Center for the Study of Africa and the African Diaspora (CSAAD) Research Fellowship invites scholars based and living in Africa and the Diaspora ( outside of North America and Europe), and who have completed the terminal degree in their field, to submit applications for the opportunity to spend either one or two semesters at New York University.
The Fellowship will provide a studio apartment, will cover airfare and will provide a stipend of $30000 per semester – from either Sept 1, 2019 – Jan 15, 2020, or Jan 16, 2020, to May 31, 2020.
2. Ghent University Full-fee Doctoral Scholarships 2019/2020 for Developing Countries
With support from its “Special Research Fund” (BOF), Ghent University grants Ph.D. scholarships to promising Ph.D. students from developing countries who wish to carry out half of their Ph.D. research at Ghent University and half in a university in a developing country.
The value of the scholarship at Ghent University depends on, a.o., the researcher’s family situation.
The Ghent University promoter also receives a bench fee to cover (part of) the operational costs, as well as the traveling costs of the student and both the Ghent University and the local promoter.
3. Korean Government Scholarships 2019/2020 (Bachelors, Masters & Ph.D.) for Developing Countries
Korean government invites 780 international students from 156 countries, for the degree(Master’s & Doctoral) and non-degree research programs in Korea through the Korean Government Scholarship.

4. Obama Foundation Scholars Program for Emerging Leaders to Study at the University of Chicago
The Obama Foundation Scholars Program seeks to support dynamic, collaborative, rising leaders from around the world in an innovative one-year academic experience.
Obama Foundation Scholars at the University of Chicago will receive a fully-funded scholarship to study a Master of Arts degree focused on International Development and Policy at the University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy.
5. Japan Africa Dream Scholarship (JADS) 2019/2020 Fully-funded Programme for African Students to Study in Japanese Universities
The Japan Africa Dream Scholarship Programme is open to applicants from AfDB member countries with relevant professional experience and a history of supporting their countries’ development efforts who are applying to a graduate degree program in energy development and related discipline.
The Japan Africa Dream Scholarship does not provide scholarships to any other graduate degree program.
