– DeepMind International Scholarships –

The University of Birmingham is now accepting applications from suitably qualified students for their DeepMind International Scholarships. It is a partially funded scholarship for all students.

About the Scholarship

The School of Computer Science, University of Birmingham is thrilled to announce three scholarships, generously funded by DeepMind, that are open to applicants currently holding either a conditional offer or unconditional offer for the MSc Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

The University of Birmingham, with support from DeepMind, is committed to increasing access to and enhancing the diversity of underrepresented groups in computer science.

Aim of DeepMind International Scholarships

We currently have three scholarships available; 2 UK scholarships and 1 international scholarship.

There are two Home scholarships available, valued at £29,860 each. The value of the scholarship is applied against:

1. UK tuition fees – £10,620

2. A maintenance grant of £15,840 (to use for living costs), paid in installments over the duration of the course

3. Funding of up to £2,000 to attend an international conference in AI and/or Machine Learning during the course as well as £1,500 towards the purchase of essential equipment (suitable laptop etc.).

There is one International scholarship available, valued at £47,680. The value of the scholarship is applied against:

1. International tuition fees – £26,640

2. A maintenance grant of £15,840 (to use for living costs), paid in installments over the duration of the course

3. Funding of up to £2,000 to attend an international conference in the field of AI and/or Machine Learning during the course as well as £1,500 towards the purchase of essential equipment (suitable laptop etc.).

4. £1700 to assist with relocation expenses.

Requirements for DeepMind International Scholarships

1. Applicants wishing to apply for the scholarship should meet one OR both of the following criteria:

2. Identify as female OR Identify as Black African, Black Caribbean, or another Black ethnicity.

Applicants must also:

1. Be able to show that they could not take up the offer of admission without financial assistance.

2. Have already received a conditional/unconditional offer to study the MSc Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at the University of Birmingham; and

3. Be ordinarily resident in the UK and would be classified as the UK for fee-paying purposes.
