Federal Government Scholarship Board, which is fully funded and sponsored by the Federal Government of Nigeria is presently accepting applications from eligible students.

The Federal Government Scholarship Board, a department under the Federal Ministry of Education, plays a crucial role in facilitating educational opportunities for students.

Its responsibilities include developing plans for the effective utilization of local and foreign scholarships, as well as collecting, analyzing and collating information on scholarship and fellowship awards for Nigerian students.

Moreover, the board is committed to ensuring that deserving students receive local and foreign scholarships, in accordance with the Multilateral Education Agreement and Bilateral Education Agreement (BEA).

The board also supervises and monitors scholars from federal tertiary institutions.

Requirements for Federal Scholarship Board Scholarship

The scholarship has specific requirements that must be met. For instance, if you’re interested in a Postgraduate (Masters or Ph.D) scholarship, you will need to meet the following criteria:

1. To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must hold a Master’s Degree or a First Degree with a First Class or Second Class Upper (2:1) grade.

2. In addition, they must have a minimum of 2 years of work experience.

3. You must have completed your National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) or obtained an exemption letter.

4. You must be below 35 years of age for Masters or below 40 for Ph.D.

5. Your certificate must not be older than 5 years.

How to Apply

To apply for FSB BEA scholarship, you need to complete the online application form on the Federal Scholarship Board BEA Portal. Once you have filled out the form, you should submit it online and also print a copy for your records.

In addition to the printed copy, you will need to attach photocopies of the following documents:

1. Letter of Admission to the Institution.

2. Current Course Registration Form, including CGPA results for years 1, 2, 3, etc.

3. Current School’s Identity Card.

4. Letter of Identification from your State/Local Government.

5. Lastly, remember to attach two (2) passport size photographs with your name written on the back and duly signed by you.

Document Required

To apply for the FSB BEA scholarship, you will need to provide the following documents:

1. Authenticated copies of your academic certificates.

2. You will need to provide the page in your current international passport that contains your personal information.
