About German Chancellor Fellowship

The German Chancellor Fellowship Program of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation is for university graduates with an international view and beginning leadership experience from Brazil, the People’s Republic of China, India, the Russian Federation, South Africa, and the United States.

It is aimed at future decision-makers, multipliers, and thought leaders in a variety of disciplines, including politics, public administration, and business, as well as society and culture.

This fellowship program will allow them to spend a year in Germany studying fresh answers to today’s global concerns while also expanding their networks. With this initiative, Germany reaffirms its position as a preferred destination for intercultural exchange and a meeting place for tomorrow’s global leaders.

The Federal Foreign Office funds this fellowship program, which is sponsored by the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany.

Every year, the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation awards up to 60 German Chancellor Fellowships, 10 of which are given to future leaders from each of the six nations listed above. Interested students should apply for programs offered by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) or other financing agencies if they want to study or train in Germany.

The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation’s Humboldt Research Fellowship Program is open to postdoctoral scientists and researchers who are preparing for an academic research project.
