Google Anita Borg Scholarship, which is fully funded by Google is presently accepting applications from eligible students.

The Google Anita Borg Scholarship

The scholarship program was created by Google in honor of Dr. Anita Borg, aiming to inspire and empower women to pursue opportunities in the field of computing and technology.

Dr. Borg obtained her Ph.D. in computer science from the Courant Institute at New York University in 1981 and subsequently built an illustrious career in computer technology.

She played an active role in breaking down barriers that hindered women and underrepresented groups from entering technology-related professions.

In 1997, she established the Institute for Women and Technology, which continues to provide support for women leaders in the technology sector.

Eligibility Criteria

All prospective candidates are required to meet the following criteria:

1. Candidates must self-identify as female.

2. Applicants must be currently enrolled at an accredited university for the academic year 2023-2024.

3. Candidates should have the intention to enroll or have been accepted as a full-time student in a Bachelors, Masters, or PhD program at a university located in the United States, Canada, Europe, Middle East, or Africa for the academic year 2023-2024.

4. Applicants must be pursuing studies in computer science, computer engineering, or a closely related technical field.

5. Demonstration of a strong academic record is essential.

6. Candidates should exhibit leadership qualities and a genuine passion for promoting the participation of women in the field of computer science.

To finalize your application, please ensure that you submit the following documents:

1. General background information, including contact details and details about your current and intended educational institutions.

2. A current resume or curriculum vitae.

3. Academic transcripts from your current institution, as well as any previous institutions where you have obtained a degree.

4. For applicants from the United States and Canada, two letters of reference from professors, instructors, advisers, or supervisors.

For applicants from Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, one letter of reference from a professor, instructor, adviser, or supervisor is required.

5. Written responses to four essay questions as part of your application.
