Nabanna Scholarship 2023, which is fully funded and sponsored by the Government of West Bengal, is presently accepting applications from eligible students.

The Nabanna Scholarship 2023

The Nabanna Scholarship is a program initiated by the Government of West Bengal’s Department of Finance to support financially challenged and academically talented students in the state of West Bengal, India.

This scholarship aims to provide financial aid to students pursuing higher education in diverse fields, including engineering, medicine, management, law, and others.

Eligibility Criteria of the scholarship

To qualify for the scholarship, the applicant must satisfy the criteria listed below:

1. Copies of academic transcripts of all previous exams passed.

2. Copies of the rank card and allotment letter issued by the Selection Committee (applicable only for JEE or equivalent exams).

3. A photocopy of the Monthly Family Income Certificate must be submitted, which must be obtained from any one of the following authorities: DM/SDO/BDO/Group-A Govt. Officer, the rank of the Group-A Govt. Officer should not be lower than Joint B.D.O./Executive Officer in the case of Municipality/Deputy Commissioner of Corporation.

4. A recommendation letter from the MP/MLA to the Hon’ble Chief Minister, specifying the student’s monthly family income.

5. The candidate must provide a self-declaration signed by themselves regarding their present course of study, year/semester, and the receipt of any scholarships/aid/assistance, which must be countersigned by the head of the present institution with a seal.

The candidate must also provide self-bank account details (IFSC Code, Branch Code, Branch Name, Account Number, Bank Name) along with a photocopy of the bank passbook.

6. A photocopy of the tuition/admission fees book.

7. Contact details, including self-mobile number.

8. The candidate must have obtained a minimum of 65% marks in Madhyamik for HS, 60% marks in HS for college students, and 55% in undergraduate for postgraduate students.

9. The candidate’s family should have an annual income not exceeding Rs. 60,000 per year to be eligible for the scholarship.

Documents Required

The application form should be accompanied by the subsequent documents:

1. A self-declaration copy countersigned by the Head of the Institute where the candidate is presently enrolled.

2. An income certificate.

3. A recommendation and income certificate from MLA.

4. The mark sheet of the candidate’s most recent examination.

5. A copy of the Rank card and allotment letter issued by the Selection Committee (applicable only for JEE or equivalent exams).
