Postgraduate Scholarships in United States: The United States is one of the prime destinations for students who are looking to benefit from a top-notch and widely recognized international education.

However, there are limited scholarship options for international students who wish to study in the US for free.

Postgraduate Scholarships in United States

To help you, I have compiled a list of postgraduate scholarships in the USA offered by US Colleges and Universities as well as postgraduate scholarships granted by the US government and institutions for international students. Let’s begin!

1. Social Policy and Coexistence Fellowship at Brandeis University

Deadline: April 15th

The Social Policy and Coexistence Fellowship will be awarded to an international student studying a Master’s degree program in Conflict Resolution and co-existence who demonstrates a commitment to working on social and public policy issues of coexistence and diversity management.

The purpose of the fellowship is to help build sustainable institutions within a country or region that can assist the development of equality, diversity, and interdependence between conflicted societal groups.

The Social Policy and Coexistence Fellowship include full tuition and health insurance for the year-in-residence and continuation fees for the subsequent summer and fall terms. The Fellowship does not include university fees, airfare, or living expenses.

2. Civil Society Leadership Awards

Deadline: May 15th

The Civil Society Leadership Awards (CSLA) provide a fully-funded master’s degree study to individuals who clearly demonstrate academic and professional excellence and a deep commitment to leading positive social change in their communities.

The awards are available to citizens of the following countries: Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Cambodia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Laos, Libya, Myanmar/Burma, Republic of Congo, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.

Those qualified for the grant will receive financial and administrative support for the following: pre-academic preparation through summer schools;  program-related travel; tuition and mandatory university fees; monthly stipend for room, board, and other living expenses; accident and sickness insurance during the program; funds for educational materials and professional development; attendance at a regional Scholarship Programs conference; accommodations during the application process and the duration of the grant for applicants with disabilities.

3. Fully-Funded Rotary Peace Fellowships

Deadline: May 31st

Each year, Rotary selects up to 100 individuals from around the world to receive fully funded academic fellowships to pursue a Professional Development Certificate Program or Masters Degree Program related to peace and conflict resolution and prevention at one of the participating peace centers around the world (USA, Japan, UK, Australia, Sweden, Thailand).

The fellowships cover tuition and fees, room and board, round-trip transportation, and all internship and field-study expenses.

4. George Washington University Global Leaders Fellowship

Deadline: February 8th

The Global Leaders Fellowship is for incoming graduate students (master’s and doctoral) at the George Washington University who will return to their countries of origin to apply skills learned through their formal education at the GW. The fellowship is intended for GW graduate students who will be future leaders in their fields in their home countries.

Students from the following countries or regions are targeted: China (PRC), Cambodia, Eastern Europe, Laos, Latin America, The Caribbean, Mongolia, Sub-Saharan Africa, U.S.S.R. Successor States, and Vietnam.

The award will cover up to 18 credit hours. The grantee is to provide funds from other sources for books, living, and other expenses and must provide certification of this support. A Fellowship is renewable each year for a cumulative maximum of three years for Master’s candidates and up to five years for the doctoral candidate.

5. Frank J. Richter Scholarship from The American Association of Railroad Superintendents, U.S.

Deadline: July 1st

Frank J. Richter Scholarship from The American Association of Railroad Superintendents, USA  is open for all nationalities. The scholarship allows for a Master’s level program (s) in the field of all subjects taught at U.S. universities.

The value of the scholarship is up to $1,000 annually. The scholarship funds are sent to the Financial Aid Office at each recipient’s institution at the beginning of the Fall and/or Spring Term.

6. Novus Biologicals International Scholarships, USA

Deadline: July 31st

The Novus Biologicals Scholarship Program is awarded to students pursuing a Master’s degree in a science-related field twice a year.

Applicants must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment (baccalaureate, graduate, associate degree, or diploma) with a declared major in a science-related field. A $1500 (or international currency equivalent) scholarship will be awarded to one student for the fall and spring semesters.

7. Harvard University MBA Scholarship, USA

Deadline: May 31st

The Boustany Foundation is pleased to announce the Harvard University MBA Scholarship. This scholarship is available for candidates of any nation, priority will be given to candidates of Lebanese descent.

The Boustany MBA Harvard Scholarship is granted once every two years for a two-year course at Harvard Business School. The Scholarship offers financial aid amounting to US$95,000 (US$47,500 per year) towards tuition fees and Travel and accommodation expenses related to the internship.

8. HKBU School of Business International Postgraduate Scholarship in the USA

Deadline: May 31st

HKBU School of Business Delighted to offer International Postgraduate Scholarship at Hong Kong Baptist University. This scholarship is designed to nature future business leaders and intellectually motivated students from around the world.

For this scholarship an outstanding applicant for one of their 5 full-time postgraduate programs from countries/ regions outside mainland China and Hong Kong. The value of the scholarship is up to HK$100,000 which is approximately US$12,800.

10. East Tennessee State University Sister Cities International Scholarship in the USA

Deadline:  March 1st

Sister Cities International Student’s Scholarship is openly provided by East Tennessee State University. This scholarship is available for undergraduate and graduates international students who are under the F-1 status.

The mission of this scholarship is to promote peace through mutual respect, understanding, and cooperation,” and to generate scholarships for deserving international students enrolled at ETSU. Scholarships will be awarded depending on the availability of funds, but no higher than $500 per award.
