Scholarships for UG Students: Searching for undergraduate funding for study in Sydney? The University of Sydney is pleased to announce the Dr. Ursula Mandel scholarship to the commencing international candidate.

Applicants are invited to apply for Dr. Ursula Mandel Scholarship to conduct doctoral programme in fields related to medicine.

The scholarship will cover up to $15,000 which are applied to standard tuition unless the awardees has another tuition-payment source. The aim of the scholarship is to increase the capacity and level of research.

Vice-Chancellor International Scholarships Scheme

Background: The Vice Chancellor’s International Scholarships are awarded to exceptional international students. The Scholarship is open to all commencing international students enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework full degree.
Open to: To be eligible for the Scholarship, applicants must be an international student as defined in the Higher Education Support Act 2003.The applicant must have applied for but not yet commenced a CRICOS-registered Bachelor’s degree or Master’s by coursework degree at the University of Sydney. The course must be delivered face-to-face (not online) and delivered onshore in Australia.

Applicants commencing a second degree at the University of Sydney are eligible provided they have not previously held the Vice Chancellor’s International Scholarships.

Value and Duration: Four scholarship amounts are offered based on ranking against selection criteria:

  1. $40,000 payable for one year in two equal instalments per semester
  2. $20,000 payable for one semester
  3. $10,000 payable for one semester
  4. $5,000 payable for one semester

The availability of some amounts may be limited to specified cohorts.

Application: All eligible students with an unconditional offer by the round closing dates listed below will be considered.There is no separate application for this scholarship, all eligible students will automatically be considered.
Scholarship Offer Details: To qualify, secure an Unconditional Offer of Admission before the following dates:SEMESTER ONE 2021

  • Round 1 – 11 October 2020
  • Round 2 – 06 December 2020
  • Round 3 – 17 January 2021

SEMESTER TWO 2021

  • Round 1 – 27 March 2021
  • Round 2 – 24 April 2021
  • Round 3 – 12 June 2021

Sydney Scholars India Scholarship Program

Background: From 2019, the University of Sydney will offer $500,000 worth in scholarships to outstanding students in India commencing an in undergraduate or postgraduate coursework course.This program intends to foster the engagement between the University of Sydney and India in our investment in research, collaboration with industry partners, and deepening the commitment to education for students to achieve their full potential
Open to:
  • Applicants must hold Indian citizenship and be a current resident of India.
  • Applicants who are permanent residents of Australia are not eligible.
  • Applicants must have applied for, but not yet commenced, an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree at the University of Sydney.
Value: A total of 28 scholarships will be awarded annually, consisting of:

  • 3 x $50,000 per annum for any undergraduate degree of up to four years,
  • 10 x $20,000 first-year scholarships for undergraduate and postgraduate students, or
  • 15 x $10,000 first year scholarships for undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Dr Abdul Kalam International Undergraduate Scholarships

Background: Dr APJ Abdul Kalam was the 11’h President of India. During his five years in office, Dr Abdul Kalam’s focus was on transforming Indian into a developed nation by 2020. A distinguished scientist and aeronautical engineer by training, Dr Kalam advocated that it is possible to work cooperatively for an economically developed, prosperous and peaceful society. In recognition of his contribution to his profession, Dr Kalam was presented with an Honorary Doctorate of Engineering from the University of Sydney in 2011.This Scholarship has been established to celebrate his commitment to education, and his endeavours to support outstanding students to develop as future leaders.
Open to: International applicants who have an unconditional offer for any undergraduate program in the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technologies at the University of Sydney.Applicants must have completed an Australian Year 12 qualification, or an International senior secondary qualification equivalent to an ATAR of at least 98.

Architecture, Design and Planning Dean’s International Merit Scholarship

Background: Established in 2003 by the Dean, the Architecture, Design and Planning Dean’s International Merit Scholarship was created to encourage the most talented individuals to undertake undergraduate courses in the Faculty of Architecture. With the approval of the Dean, the scholarship may be deferred for maximum of one year before commencement of study.The scholarship is only tenable in the Faculty of Architecture.
Open to: Recipients must be citizens or permanent residents of Australia.
Recipients must enrol full time in the agreed degree program during the tenure of their scholarship.
The scholarship may not be held with another scholarship of equal or greater value
Value: $1,000
