Scottie Barnes Scholarship 2023 Application Update
Scottie Barnes Scholarship, which is fully funded by the Skilled Trades College of Canada is presently accepting applications from eligible students.
The Scottie Barnes Scholarship
Skilled Trades College of Canada, in partnership with Scottie Barnes, Toronto Raptors’ Rookie of the Year, is extending an invitation to black and Indigenous students to seize an opportunity to compete for one of four scholarships that will ignite their journey in the skilled trades sector.
The fortunate recipients selected by Scottie will have the chance to enroll at any of the Skilled Trades College campuses located throughout the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) to pursue programs in electrical work, plumbing, data and smart home wiring, as well as home renovation.
Financial Benefits
Scholarship recipients will have the opportunity to embark on an apprenticeship in their preferred trade, with the added benefit of having their complete tuition fees, learning materials, tools, and textbooks covered throughout the program.
The total value of each scholarship amounts to $20,000.
Benefits of Scholarship
1. Receive an invitation to a Raptors Game during the autumn season, where they will have the opportunity to meet and greet Scottie Barnes, as well as receive a personally signed Scottie Barnes, Toronto Raptors Jersey.
2. Exercise the freedom to select their preferred campus from the available options: Toronto East, Vaughan, Mississauga, or Ajax.

3. Choose their desired course of study from a range of options including Electrical, Plumbing, Home Renovation & Smart Home Wiring.
4. Provide regular updates to STC (Skilled Trades College) throughout the course and for a period of 3 months after its completion.
5. Benefit from a comprehensive scholarship package valued at $20,000, covering all associated expenses.
Eligibilities for Scottie Barnes Scholarship
1. Applicants must hold Canadian citizenship or have permanent residency status in Canada.
2. Successful completion of high school education or equivalent qualification.
3. Age requirement between 18 and 30 years old.
4. Self-identification as a member of a visible minority (Black, Indigenous, or Person of Color – BlPOC).
