Australia Free College Scholarships – The Australian Government and Australian Universities provide a large number of scholarships for international students who wish to study in Australia.
Here is a list of the 10 Australia free college scholarships for international students.
1. IWC Scholarships for International Students
Deadline: August 1st
The IWC Masters Scholarships are prestigious scholarships awarded annually to high caliber candidates who clearly demonstrate potential to become future water leaders to study the IWC Master of Integrated Water Management (MIWM) at Griffith University.
The scholarship is of two (2) types, Type A and Type B. Type A is for future water leaders from priority countries in Asia-Pacific, Latin America, Africa, and the Middle-East, while Type B is for Future water leader from selected countries in North America, Europe, or Asia.
For Type A, the scholarship is valued at approximately AU$ 92,645 and will cover full tuition fees, living costs, return air travel to Australia, university student amenities fee, student visa, and overseas health cover. While Type B is valued at approximately AU$ 56,739 and will cover full tuition fees and return air travel to Australia.
2. Fully-Funded Rotary Peace Fellowships
Deadline: May 31st
Each year, Rotary selects up to 100 individuals from around the world to receive fully funded academic fellowships to pursue a Professional Development Certificate Program or Masters Degree Program related to peace and conflict resolution and prevention at one of the participating peace centers around the world (USA, Japan, UK, Australia, Sweden, Thailand).
The fellowships cover tuition and fees, room and board, round-trip transportation, and all internship and field-study expenses.
3. University of Sydney International Scholarships (USydIS)
Deadline: July 3rd
The University of Sydney invites candidates who are eligible to undertake a Postgraduate Research Degree or Master’s by Research program at this University to apply for the University of Sydney International Research Scholarship (USydIS). The objective of the USydIS is to attract top quality international postgraduate students to undertake research projects which will enhance the University’s research activities.
The USydIS will cover tuition fees and living allowance for up to three years with a possibility of one semester’s extension for Ph.D. students.
4. Melbourne International Undergraduate Scholarships
Deadline: Admissions Deadline
The International Undergraduate Scholarships were established by the University of Melbourne in recognition of the significant contribution made by international students to the diversity of the University’s student population.
This scholarship provides either a $10,000 tuition fee remission in the first year of an undergraduate degree, 50% fee remission for the three year duration of an undergraduate degree, or 100% fee remission for the three year duration of an undergraduate degree.
5. Australia Research Training Program (RTP) Scholarships
Deadline: October 31st
The RTP provides block grants, on a calendar year basis, to higher education providers (HEPs) to support both domestic and overseas students undertaking Research Doctorate and Research Masters degrees, known as higher degrees by research (HDRs).
Under RTP, a University provides one or more of the following types of support to an RTP Scholarship recipient:
- Tuition fees of a higher degree by research (HDR) student that would otherwise have been paid by the student.
- Stipend to assist students with their living costs while undertaking a higher degree by research.
- Allowances to assist students with ancillary costs of a higher degree by research (HDR). This includes relocation costs to undertake an HDR.
6. Hedley Bull Scholarships in International Affairs at Australian National University
Deadline: October 30th
The Graduate Studies in International Affairs program offers Hedley Bull Scholarships each year for full-time study in the Master of Arts (International Relations) commencing in semester one. The scholarship provides a full fee waiver for three full-time sessions (semesters). This amounts to 48 units of graduate coursework and a 24-unit thesis session.
7. Macquarie Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarships
The Macquarie University Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship provides a partial tuition fee scholarship for outstanding students to study an undergraduate or postgraduate degree at Macquarie University.
The scholarship amount is varied up to AUD$10,000 and will be applied towards your tuition fee. It is not renewable. Note that the scholarships do not provide financial support in the form of a living allowance, nor does it provide for the cost of visa application, Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC), airfares, accommodation, conferences or other costs associated with the study.
8. University of Melbourne Graduate Research Scholarships
Deadline: October 31st
Established by the University of Melbourne, this scholarship is available to high achieving domestic and international students undertaking a Master by research degree or Doctoral degree.
The scholarship covers:
- Full fee offset for up to two years for students undertaking a Masters by Research degree or up to four years for students undertaking a doctoral degree.
- Living allowance of $30,600 per year pro rata (2019 full-time study rate) for up to two years for students undertaking a Masters by Research degree or up to 3.5 years for students undertaking a doctoral degree.
- Relocation grant of $2000 for students moving from States or Territories other than Victoria or $3000 for students moving from outside Australia.
- Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) Single Membership for international students who require a student visa to study in Australia.
9. International Undergraduate Scholarships at University of Queensland
Deadline: October 31st
UQ International offers a limited number of scholarship opportunities for outstanding international students intending to study in an undergraduate program at The University of Queensland (UQ). The scholarship is a one-off reduction in your tuition fees to the value of AUD$6000. Students are required to pay for their own medical insurance through the Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) scheme.
10. University of Newcastle Postgraduate Research Scholarships
Deadline: September 15th
Prospective and current research students are eligible to apply for University and Commonwealth Government scholarships, which are awarded during two rounds to domestic and international applicants.
A scholarship funded by the University of Newcastle or the Commonwealth Government provides an annual living allowance $26, 288 annually. The scholarship may also include a relocation allowance (up to $2,020), thesis allowance (up to $500), full tuition fee scholarship for international students, and overseas student health cover (OSHC) for international students.
