The American-Scandinavian Foundation (ASF) grants one-year fellowships for up to $23,000 to Scandinavian citizens who are undertaking a master’s or Ph.D. program in the United States for any field of study.

Qualified candidates must legally reside in Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden, or Iceland, but have at least some ability in the English language. For consideration, applicants must submit three letters of recommendation, undergraduate transcripts, a CV or resume, and a biographical essay.

6. East-West Center Graduate Degree Fellowship

The East-West Center has created the Graduate Degree Fellowship to provide 24 months of full tuition funding to advanced students from Asia and the Pacific, including Russia, who is earning a master’s or Ph.D. degree at the University of Hawaii.

Eligible applicants must be enrolling at UH full-time, pass the TOEFL or IELTS exam, fulfill the J-1 visa requirements, and submit two letters of reference. Chosen fellows are expected to complete at least 90 hours of community service and file monthly reports.

Through the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI), the International Student Research Fellowships are available for $43,000 to non-U.S. predoctoral students who are studying at an accredited American institution. In memory of an accomplished audiologist killed at age 36 during an attempted hijacking of an airplane in Karachi, Pakistan, the Kala Singh Memorial Scholarships are gifted for $5,000 by the American Speech-Language-Hearing (ASH) Foundation.

10. Fulbright Foreign Student Program

18.UNESCO/Poland Co-Sponsored Fellowships
