Applications are currently being accepted for the Scotiabank National Scholarship, a fully funded program provided by Scotiabank, targeting eligible students.

The Scotiabank National Scholarship

The objective of the 2023 Scotiabank national scholarship is to acknowledge Canadian students as well as international students studying in Canada who are dedicated to pursuing their academic goals.

Additionally, it aims to provide financial relief by assisting them with the expenses associated with their education.

The recipients of this scholarship will have the opportunity to receive a substantial prize amounting to $80,000.

Scholarship Benefits

Scotiabank grants a scholarship of $5,000 to 15 deserving recipients. Furthermore, if you submit your application before September, you will have the opportunity to participate in a draw for a chance to win one of the five early bird prizes, each valued at $1,000.

Eligibility Criteria for Scotiabank National Scholarship

The primary target of the Scotiabank National Scholarship is to support qualified members of yconic who meet the following eligibility criteria:

1. Eligible individuals include Canadian citizens, permanent residents of Canada, and international students with a valid student visa (valid for a duration of one year or longer).

2. Applicants must be 16 years of age or older at the time of application.


3. The scholarship is open to high school or CEGEP students who intend to pursue a certificate, diploma, or degree program at a Canadian college, university, or trade school during the academic year 2023/2024.

4. Post-secondary students who are enrolling in or preparing to enroll in a certificate, diploma, or degree program at a Canadian college, university, or trade school in the academic year 2023/2024 are also eligible.

Selection Criteria

The scholarship selection process takes into consideration the following criteria:

1. Demonstrated excellence in academic performance.

2. Financial need of the applicant.

3. Acknowledged contributions made to the Black community.

4. Additional criteria determined by the scholarship donor, such as the chosen subject of study or attendance at a specific university.
