About the Scholarship

Transform Together Scholarships are exclusively for international and European Union (non-UK) students starting a full-time taught course in 2022/23.

A half fee waiver (50% discount) is available for postgraduate courses and for each year of an undergraduate degree.

Scholarships are awarded to students who can demonstrate excellent academic achievement. Applicants also need to describe how they will stand out from the crowd as an ambassador for Sheffield Hallam University during and after their studies.

Benefits of Transform Together Scholarships

1. Your CAS statement will be updated to reflect your scholarship award.
2. After enrollment, you will be invited to a scholarship ceremony to celebrate your achievement.
3. You will also be expected to represent Sheffield Hallam University as a scholarship ambassador through various activities during the academic year and after graduation.
4. You could be eligible for an automatic discount of at least £1,000.
5. You can apply for more than one scholarship.

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for one of these scholarships you must
1. Be an international or a European Union (non-UK) fee-paying student
2. Postgraduate only–have achieved a minimum 2.1 or equivalent in your honours degree and must meet the English and academic entry requirements for your course.
3. Undergraduate only–have achieved or exceeded the English and academic entry requirements for the course.
If you are awarded an undergraduate scholarship, you must successfully complete each year of study to continue to receive the fee waiver.
4. Have accepted an offer for a full-time taught undergraduate or postgraduate course at Sheffield Hallam University.
5. Be self-funding your studies
6. Be able to pay any additional fees your course may require, for example field trips
You are not eligible to apply if you:
1. Are receiving funding for your studies from a sponsor or other scholarship provider
2. Are studying a Sheffield Hallam course at a partner institution, or
3. Have an offer for Sheffield Hallam University Graduate Certificate International Pre-Masters in Business and English or International Foundation Programme in art, design and media or business, law and social sciences.
Also, Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths. You can apply for a scholarship for the course that you will progress onto following successful completion of the preparation programme.

How to Apply for Scholarships

To apply for a Transform Together Scholarship for January 2022, please follow these steps
1. Apply for a course at Sheffield Hallam. If you have not applied for a course, please visit our online prospectus
2. Check you meet the scholarship eligibility criteria listed below
3. When you have accepted an offer to study on a course here, apply for a scholarship online using the link below by the closing date of 31 May 2022.

4. Send your academic transcripts to [email protected] by 31 May 2022.
5. You will be notified if you have been successful within one month of the deadline. All decisions are at the University’s discretion and are final.

Who is Eligible to Apply?

To be eligible to apply for one of these scholarships you must:
1. Be an international or a European Union (non-UK) fee-paying student

FAQ’s about Transform Together Scholarships

QUES: ♠ What are the deadlines for submitting Transform Together scholarship application forms?

ANS: For courses starting in  31 May 2022., the deadline for applications is 31 May 2022.

QUES: ♠ The application form asks for my Sheffield Hallam University Student Identifier number – what is this?

ANS: Once you have applied for a course and your application has been processed you will receive an eight digit Student Identifier (SI) number. To apply for a scholarship, you will need to include your SI number in your application.

QUES: ♠ Do I need to apply for my course and Transform Together scholarship separately?

ANS: Yes, you need to apply for your academic course first. You can see all of the courses we offer on our prospectus. When you receive an offer for your course, you can apply for a Transform Together scholarship.

QUES: ♠ Can I apply for more than one scholarship?

ANS: You are welcome to apply for as many scholarships as you wish, provided you meet the eligibility criteria. If you are successful in more than one scholarship application, you can choose to accept the one which offers the highest value.

QUES: ♠ What is the difference between a scholarship and a discount?

ANS: Scholarships are competitive and require the completion of an application form. Discounts are reductions in your tuition fees which are automatically applied by our admissions team.

QUES: ♠ If my application is not successful, can I ask for feedback?

ANS: Unfortunately, due to the large number of applications that we receive, we are unable to give individual feedback to unsuccessful students.

QUES: ♠ Can I apply for a Transform Together scholarship if I am a current Sheffield Hallam student?

ANS: You can apply if you are progressing from a Sheffield Hallam undergraduate degree to a master’s degree.  You cannot apply if you have already started your course.

QUES: ♠ The terms and conditions say that I need to be a ‘selffunding’ student to apply for a Transform Together scholarship – what does that mean?

ANS: Self-funded means that you are not sponsored by a government, a company or an employer.  You are classed as self-funded if a family member or friend funds your studies as this is a personal arrangement.
If you are a student from the EU, you are also classed as self-funded if you are applying for a Student Loan.

QUES: ♠ When will I find out if I have been offered a Transform Together scholarship?

Applicants will be notified no later than one month after the scholarship deadline. This will be by email using the email address on your application.

QUES: ♠ Can I defer my Transform Together scholarship?

ANS: No, you cannot defer your Transform Together scholarship. You can defer your course application and will be welcome to reapply for the scholarship but we cannot guarantee that you will receive the scholarship, even if you have been successful in a previous application.

QUES: ♠ If I’m successful in my scholarship application, how will this be reflected on my CAS and student fee record?

ANS: We will inform the student fees team that you have been successful in your scholarship application. They will update your student fee record to show this.  They will invoice you for the balance of your fees.
If you haven’t received your CAS statement yet, when it is issued it will reflect your scholarship award.
If your CAS has already been issued then our admissions team will update your record to reflect your scholarship award and this will be visible to UKVI when you make your visa application. Your CAS statement will not be reissued.
