China Europe International Business School – China Europe International Business School (CEIBS), a joint-venture for management education, was co-founded by the Chinese government and European Union (EU) in 1994, with Shanghai Jiao Tong University and the EFMD serving as its executive partners.

Programmes at the China Europe International Business School
The 64-credit full-time programme consists of compulsory courses totaling 33 credits and elective courses totaling 31 credits. The programme is designed to lay a solid foundation of management fundamentals while providing the flexibility of tailoring programmes to fit individual interests and career ambitions.
Students can choose to focus on general business management or select one of four concentrations in Finance, Marketing, Digital Business or Entrepreneurship.
All candidates are expected to meet the following requirements:
– A bachelor’s degree or above
– Full-time work experience of two years or longer
– A GMAT/GRE score (GMAT code: MDQ-HH-39; GRE code: 3654) or CEIBS Admission Test score
– Proficiency in English
The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) consists of four parts: the Analytical Writing Assessment (AWA) Section, the Quantitative Section, the Verbal Section, and the Integrated Reasoning Section. All four sections are administered in a computer-adaptive format.
The GMAT Institution Code for CEIBS is MDQ-HH-39 and CEIBS students usually have a total score of more than 600 for the Quantitative and Verbal Sections.
The General Test of Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is composed of three parts – verbal, quantitative, and analytical writing.
The maximum score for verbal and quantitative is 170. The analytical writing score will be reported on a 0-6 score scale, in half-point increments. GRE scores are valid for 5 years. The GRE Institution Code for CEIBS is 3654.
Application for entry into the MBA 2021 class is based on a ’round’ admission system. Applicants need to make sure that all necessary documents are submitted to the MBA Admissions Office before the application deadline. The MBA Admissions Office will process an application only when it is completed.
The final application deadline for admission is March 13, 2019. As the programme is highly competitive, applicants are encouraged to apply as early as possible. Seats offered in the 3rd round are likely to be limited.
Each applicant is required to answer essay questions which are included in the online application form, to demonstrate your potential as a qualified MBA student.
Those who have applied previously are also required to submit updated essays as well as the online application form.
An offer of admissions to the CEIBS MBA programme requires an interview. After receipt of a complete application package, the MBA Admissions Office will review all information provided and will short-list applicants for interviews. Applicants can choose their interview location, except in special cases.
The interview panel will be comprised of CEIBS faculty, department directors, alumni, and admissions managers. In most cases, applicants will be interviewed by two interviewers. Each interview is approximately 30 minutes, conducted in English.
A face-to-face interview is required for all applicants who are residing in mainland China.

2. Finance MBA:
China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) launched a Part-time Finance MBA Programme in order to build a talent pipeline and establish Shanghai as an IFC (international financial center) through developing high-caliber talents with global competitiveness.
The Programme provides the “rising stars” of China’s financial sector with access to the latest financial and managerial theories and practices.
In addition, pursuing a nationwide strategy to establish Shanghai as an IFC, CEIBS is dedicated to Shanghai Lujiazui (Group) Co., Ltd. (later renamed the CEIBS Lujiazui Institute of International Finance, CLIIF) becoming an influential think tank for the development of Shanghai as an IFC and the modernisation of China’s financial system.
CEIBS FMBA Programme is designed to incorporate financial depth and managerial breadth. In addition to teaching the technical aspects of finance, it will also offer courses in general management to create well-rounded graduates who are both strong in finance and capable of leading at the management level.
In addition, it includes a one-week overseas module at London Business School, so students will have a chance to study cutting-edge financial theories at one of the world’s prestigious business schools, learn best practices through visits to well-known financial institutions, and attend lectures delivered by finance industry leaders and experts.
A qualified FMBA applicant must meet the following three basic conditions:
- Undergraduate university degree or above
- A minimum of 5 years working experience with at least 2 years in managerial positions
- Currently working full-time in a financial institution or finance-related function in “another industry”

- Candidates whose application documents and exam results are accepted by the admission committee will be eligible to appear for the interview round of the admission process.
- Applicants communicate face to face with the interviewer, to examine the applicant’s experience in the industry, management thinking, the ability to expertise, leadership potential, and other capabilities.
