The Cologne Business School (CBS) is an internationally orientated, state-recognized university of applied sciences and counts as one of Germany‘s top Business Schools. You can choose between seven Bachelor and twelve different Master of Arts programs.

1. Finance & Management

Finance and Management (Bachelor of Science) course is a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a focus on finance.

As a Finance Manager, you will later take on a key position in companies and will be responsible for money management.

Due to the institutes’ high affinity for analytical processes, graduates of this study programme are predestined for career entry to classic companies in the financial sector.

They include banks, insurance companies, and the stock exchange.

The business school uses English as its study language and carries out this degree in the of 6 semesters. This program is a full-time program.

Program Requirements

The admission requirement for studying at Cologne Business School is a secondary school completion and university qualification or full entrance qualification to an applied sciences university.

Equivalent qualifications from schools abroad are recognized accordingly.

Examples: A-Levels, General Certificate of Education or IB Diploma. In case you do not already possess a school leaving certificate you can submit the previous report.

Application Process

➛ Your CV in tabular format

➛ A certified copy of your last school certificate with a transcript of records for each subject (original language plus translation in either English or German)

➛ Only in the event that you have previously studied at another college or university: Please submit a current transcript of courses taken (official Transcript of Records) or a certified copy of your degree (Bachelor Degree or Diploma; original language plus translation in either English or German)

➛ Copy of your ID and your residence permit (if available)

➛ Proof of English proficiency (if English is not your native language). You can furnish proof by taking the Cologne Business School language test within the scope of our Assessment Day.

You can substitute the required language test if you provide evidence of a six-month stay abroad in an English-speaking country or if you prove parts of studies in English (examination of the individual case).

Alternatively, we accept the following certificates: TOEFL certificate (at least 83 points Internet-based) or IELTS (at least band 6.5). The tests must not be older than two years.

➛ We also provide an English test internally as part of our selection procedure.

➛ A digital passport photo (JPG)

Assessment Day

In order to commence studies with us, you must first successfully complete our selection process on one of our Assessment Days.

These take place several times per month at CBS. The Cologne Business School are happy to assist you in choosing suitable accommodation for your stay in Cologne.

For applicants who are unable to come to Cologne to complete the test, we also offer a telephone interview option. More detailed information regarding these procedures will be provided during the application process.

A successfully completed test is valid for two years.

There are different payment methods available. For example, the fees can be paid per month, per semester, per year or as a total amount.

Tuition Fee for Non-EU Students** per se­mes­ter 7,530 €
Semester Fee per se­mes­ter 270 €
Registration Fee one-time 600 €

The semester fee covers the following positions:

NRW-Ticket: CBS students vote regularly as to which local and regional transport tickets should be used. As per the current decision, all CBS students will auto­mati­cally receive the NRW ticket.

This ticket is valid all year starting from the begin­ning of the se­mester.

Student’s Union/ Kölner Studier­enden­werk: Students at CBS have the privilege to benefit from the many services provided by the Cologne Student’s Union (Kölner Studier­enden­werk).

The Student’s Union operates, among other things, numerous dining halls through­out the city, manages most student dormi­tories, helps students with young children and operates a psycho­social counselling centre.

It is also respon­sible for any BAföG appli­cations you may have and generally offers support in all financial emergencies.

Uni­versity Sport Cologne/ Hoch­schul­sport Köln: CBS is a partner of the Hoch­schul­sport Köln (Uni­versity Sport Cologne) and students have access to the wide-ranging sports programme.

Offered are ball sports, various fitness classes, dancing lessons, and combat sport.

Students can even attend winter sports or scuba diving courses. It is possible that extra costs need to be paid for a few of the courses.

Student Parlia­ment: The Student Parlia­ment (StuPa) repre­sents the students when dealing with uni­versity management and adminis­tration.

It also streng­thens the bond between students. With the help of the contri­bution, it organizes different events at CBS.
