National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (NPMCN)

The National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria is a parastatal of the Federal Government Ministry of Health. It was created on September 24, 1979.

This was under the decree No. 67 now Cap N59 Laws of the Federation 2004, as a corporate body to medical specialists, capable of providing world-class research, teaching and health care. However, today, the college is the apex of medical education in Nigeria.

On September 14, 2015, the college faulted and objected the dissolution of the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria by Muhammadu Buhari, the President of Nigeria. The college insinuated that such premature dissolution of the council will encourage quackery and malpractice in the health sector.

This Online Portal is created for formal and prospective students of the institution. And it is to create an account and log in to perform certain academic actions at ease. Example:

  1. Course registration and fees payment.
  2. Also, checking of result and viewing of admission list/status.
  3. Additionally, acceptance fees payment details.
  4. Furthermore, processing of transcript.
  5. Also, viewing of academic calendar.
  6. Additionally, processing of extra credit hours.

NPMCN Associate Fellows Registration on NPMCN Portal

Candidates are to register as Associate Fellow immediately they commence Residency Programme. Also, the Associate Fellows registration fee is thirty thousand naira (₦30,000:00k) only. However, other mandatory fees are:

  • Associate Fellows Annual Subscription (AFAS): Ten thousand naira (₦10,000:00k)per year. Candidates are to pay AFAS from the year they commenced Residency Programme till date.
  • Development Levy: Ten thousand naira (₦10,000:00k) This is payable only once. And it can be paid along with Associate Fellows registration fee. Or at any time before sitting for Part I Fellowship Examination.


AFAS payment is ANNUAL. And this is irrespective of whether an examination will be taken or not. Late payment beyond January 31st of each year attracts a penalty of Ten Thousand Naira (₦10,000.00k) annually. Click here to proceed

Important Information to Candidates of the Fellowship Examination

  • Candidates that have taken the Parts I and II Fellowship Examinations before but cannot remember their Associate Fellows should not fill the associate fellows registration form.

Also, candidates who have applied for Associate Fellows outside the portal and are yet to get the number should not fill the associate fellows registration form.

How to Carry Out Some Activities on the NPMCN Portal

As a Fresh Candidates

  • Log on to the NPMCN website,
  • Click on sign-up.
  • Furthermore, fill in the required information and submit.
  • The system will send confirmation email containing default login details to your mail.
  • Follow the instructions in the mail to activate your account and login to register for the examination.

As a Returning Candidates

  • Login with your login details.
  • Also, click on the part of the examination to proceed.

For Password Reset

  • Click on “I forgot my password” on the web page.
  • Enter your registered email address.
  • The system will send confirmation email containing default login details to your mail.
  • Follow the instructions in the mail to activate your account and login to register for the examination.

To Resend Confirmation Link

  • In case, your link has expired
  • Click on “Resend Confirmation Link”.
  • Enter your registered email address.
  • The system will resend confirmation email containing default login details to your mail.
  • Follow the instructions in the mail to activate your account and login to register for the examination.

For Proposal Submission

Candidates are advised on downloading below listed documents from the Download Module on the college portal and upload them back.

  1. Title Page 1 of Candidate Proposal.
  2. Also, Title Page 2 of Candidate Proposal in PDF format.
  3. Declaration Form by Candidate for Proposal.
  4. Attestation by Supervisor – Proposal.
  5. Certification by Head of Department of Candidate Proposal.


  • All documents including two (2) consecutive Annual Progress Reports, Certificate of Training, Log books, Revision/Update Course Certificate, Evidence of payment of AFAS (Parts I & II only) should be scanned in PDF format and uploaded.
  • Also, Approved Proposal, Casebook and Dissertation should be uploaded in MS WORD format while Title page, Declaration page, certification Page and Reports of Proposal Assessment should be uploaded in PDF format.
  • Additionally, Candidate Declaration Form for NPMCN Examination, NPMCN Fellow’s Recommendation Form and Institutional Approval Form for NPMCN Examination (Part 1 and 2) should be downloaded from the download section on the eportal. Also, it should be filled, signed as required and uploaded on the eportal.

Also, application must be submitted properly on the portal. And this is by clicking the submit button.

Additionally, candidates are advised to always click on the submit button each time they edit application or upload documents before the close of registration.
