OOU Holds International Workshop on Improving Funding Models in Higher Education.

This is to inform the general public, most especially, members of the University Community and those in the private sector that Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye (OOU) in collaboration with Swansea University, Wales, United Kingdom will be holding an International Workshop on “Improving Funding Models in Higher Education”.

This is to inform the general public, most especially, members of the University Community and those in the private sector that Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye (OOU) in collaboration with Swansea University, Wales, United Kingdom will be holding an International Workshop on “Improving Funding Models in Higher Education”.

This event will take place from Monday, 22nd July, to Thursday, 25th July, 2019 at Park Inn by Radisson, Abeokutaand Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye.

As part of the activities lined up for the exercise, on Monday, 22nd July, some selected Faculty members from OOU and the delegates from Swansea University would have an interactive session with invited top notch entrepreneurs and captains of industries.   The session which will take place at Park Inn by Radisson, Abeokuta has the main objective of partnering on enterprise, curriculum development and research levels.

OOU hopes that a collaboration of this nature, will equip its students with necessary skills and give an hindsight on what to improve in its curriculum in order to put their students in vantage positions in the highly competitive labour market. A similar exercise will take place with Agropreneurs on Thursday, 25th July at OOU, Ago-Iwoye.

Earlier on Tuesday, 23rd July, there would be a special Workshop Session of Train the Trainers.  This involves the training of potential trainers by highly skilled professionals on improving funding models, private sector involvement in curriculum development, entrepreneurship, research and development skills in the University.

This event will take place at OOU, Ago-Iwoye. The following day, Wednesday, 24th July will afford the delegates to have an extensive tour of the University, Main Campus in Ago-Iwoye.

It would be recalled that this programme is a follow-up to the inaugural workshop that took place at Swansea University, United Kingdom in June, 2019 where OOU was well represented.
