UNIUYO Admission Scam Alert: The management of University of Uyo, UNIUYO has released a disclaimer notice as regards publications on some fraudulent websites purporting to be the University’s Admission website and fake social media handles operated in the name of the Vice-Chancellor.

Admission Fraudsters

The attention of the University of Uyo Management has been drawn to some publications on some fraudulent websites purporting to be University of Uyo admission websites.

They are asking unsuspecting members of the public to make payments into certain bank account numbers.

The University wishes to inform the general public that the above-cited websites among others do not, in any way, form or represent the University of Uyo or any of its subsidiaries.

This development has been reported to the appropriate security agencies for investigation and prosecution of those found culpable.

The University of Uyo hereby disclaims liability for any transaction entered into with these fraudsters.

The general public is by this notice duly alerted and warned to desist from relating with such persons or outfits in whatever form as the University of Uyo has nothing to do with them.

Anybody who pays money to any private bank account or any person(s) purporting to act on behalf of the University and/or any of its subsidiaries, for admission into the University of Uyo does so at his or her own risk.

All information regarding admissions into the University of Uyo can be accessed through http://www.uniuyo.edu.ng and no genuine University of Uyo Staff or representative will ask any applicant/candidate to pay money into any private Account.

For emphasis, all payments (which are E-bill based) for an application form, admission, and registration are made in favor of the University of Uyo via the Remita platform.

Fraudulent Internet Activities

The attention of the University Management has been drawn to fake Facebook, Instagram, and Linkedin handles operated in the name of the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Uyo, Professor Nyaudoh Ukpabio Ndaeyo, with his pictures deployed to hoodwink unsuspecting members of the public.

I am to inform all members of the University of Uyo Community and other stakeholders to be wary of the activities of these fraudsters and to advise all persons involved in this fraudulent act to desist from using the name of the Vice-Chancellor to defraud unsuspecting members of the public.

Anyone caught perpetrating this act would be sanctioned as appropriate.

Members of the University of Uyo Community and all stakeholders are advised to note that the infraction has been reported to appropriate authorities for investigation.
