FUNAAB Student Portal: With the aim to encourage the advancement of learning and to hold out all persons without discrimination based on race, creed, sex, and political conviction, FUNAAB has contributed to the growth of many persons through their academic programs.

The University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (UNAAB) is one of the three universities of agriculture established by the Federal government of Nigeria. UNAAB was established on January 1, 1988. Read through carefully for updates from the student application portal.

It started its operation at a mini-campus at Isale-Igbein in the center of Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State. The University later moved into its permanent site which is located some 20km away and shares a common boundary with the Ogun-Oshun River Basin Development Authority on the Abeokuta-Ibadan Road.

In the early years of the establishment of FUNAAB, Students Industrial Training started under the supervision of the Food Science and Technology (FST) Department for Food Science and Technology Students.

FUNAAB University Objectives

The distinguishing feature of FUNAAB’s mandate is its tripodal nature, comprising teaching, research, and extension functions. These are adequately emphasized in the 13-point objectives of the University and the Academic Brief that was prepared for the take-off of the University. The objectives are:
  • To develop and offer academic and professional programs leading to the award of diplomas, first degree, postgraduate research, and higher degrees which emphasize planning, adaptive technical maintenance, developmental and productive skills in agriculture, agricultural engineering, and allied professional disciplines with the aim of producing socially mature persons with capacity to improve on those disciplines and develop new ones, but also to contribute to the scientific transformation of agriculture in Nigeria.
  • To act as agents and catalysts, through postgraduate training, research, and innovation for effective and economic utilization, exploitation, and conservation of Nigeria’s natural agricultural, economic, and human resources.

What is FUNAAB Cut-off Mark 2021?

Permit me to quickly explain what the cut-off mark is and why Universities in Nigeria use it as a yardstick for admission. Cut off mark is a simple English word that means a designated limit beyond which something cannot function or must be terminated.

FUNAAB UTME Cut off mark is the required score from you by the university in order to gain admission to study your desired score. Those who sit for JAMB are called UTME candidates. This simply means JAMB is not the only way for you to gain admission into FUNAAB.

FUNAAB, JAMB UTME cut-off mark is 200 and may change depending on school policy. This cut-off is only applicable to some departmental courses in FUNAAB as some may require you to score above.

FUNAAB Admission as a Direct Entry Candidate

Direct entry applicants are candidates who had completed their studies in BSC, HND, ND, NCE, IJMB, JUPEB, Cambridge Advanced Level (A’levels), etc. Then later want to further their studies to university for their courses or related courses but this time to 200 or 300 level straight.

If you don’t belong to this category of candidates, skip to the next section. As a direct entry admission seekers, you must have equally obtained the JAMB Direct Entry form (not the JAMB UTME form).

You also must register at any available CBT centers across the nation. JAMB direct entry form usually comes out the very time UTME candidates are registering too. It was in the past that DE form came after UTME.

During the registration, your first choice institution should be FUNAAB as the university doesn’t consider second choice applicants.
