Common Difference Between iPhone Xs and Samsung S9 Plus.

Difference Between iPhone Xs and Samsung S9 Plus: A lot has been said about Apple and Samsung phones and of recent, it seems the rivalry between the companies and their loyal customers has even become even more intense, even going as far as trolling themselves in not-so-subtle advertisements online and in the media.

All iPhone and Samsung Galaxy phones always get compared whenever they are released based on statistics ranging from price to durability to camera quality to battery capacity and so much more. While a case can be made for a while which phone is better than the other, most persons who do the comparisons do not even have the facts to argue and base their comparisons on.

What separates the iPhone XS from the Samsung S9 Plus? What makes each different from the other? All of that and more would be treated in this article so read further.

  • Operating System (OS) and Processor (CPU)

The most common difference between the iPhone XS and Samsung Galaxy S9 plus is the OS, their operating system.

The iPhone XS runs on Apple’s iOS v12 while Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus runs on the latest Android v8.0 (Oreo).

The iPhone XS also has an Hexa core CPU or processor while the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus has an Octa-core processor or CPU.

  • Storage and RAM Size

While the iPhone XS has  impressive variants of 64/256/512 storage with a 4GB RAM and no memory card slot , the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus has cool variants of 64 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB storage with a massive 6GB RAM with a memory card slot too which means you can expand the memory size of the phone.

Which you think wins in this category depends on if you value storage size over RAM size.

  • Battery

We all know this is another important thing everyone looks out for as what’s the point of having a phone whose battery can’t last long enough to let you use it for a while without charging.

In terms of battery strength, many things are considered such as the Processor, the app management capability, the power saving mode and a few other functionalities in the phone which are available in both phones. That stated, what are the exact battery capacities of the iPhone XS and the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus?

The iPhone XS has a battery capacity of 2658 mAh which is non-removable while the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus spots a 3500 mAh.

My opinion? Both phones could have done better with the battery capacities installed in the phones. A battery capacity of at least 4000 mAh would have been perfect for both phones.

  • Display

In terms of display for phones which aren’t tablets, both the iPhone XS and the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus are impressive.

The iPhone XS has a 5.8 inches screen with a scratch-resistant glass with oleophobic coating while the Samsung carries a 6.2 inches screen with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 display.

  • Sound and Radio

As it is with recent versions of the iPhone, the iPhone XS has no 3.5mm jack to plug in your headset physically while the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus has continued to retain the 3.5mm jack.

Also, the iPhone XS has no FM radio while the Samsun has continued to retain the FM radio.

In the terms of Sound and FM radio, the Samsung sure beats the iPhone XS.

  • Selfie Camera

While both the iPhone XS and the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus spot back or primary dual cameras of 12 MP and 12 MP, the iPhone XS spots a selfie camera or secondary camera of 7 MP with video capturing qualities of 1080p@60fps;

While the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus spots a selfie camera or secondary camera of 8 MP with video capturing qualities of 1440p@30fps

I can’t exactly say which phone won in this category as both give out quality pictures.

  • Price and Colours

Of course, it is not news that iPhones are very expensive for many reasons including the way Apple brands its products and that, unlike Android which Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus runs on which is open so, iOS is only operated by Apple.

iPhone XS costs a whooping €1150 and come in three colours such as Space Gray, Silver and Gold;

While Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus costs about €690 and comes in a wide range of exciting colours such as Midnight Black, Coral Blue, Burgundy Red, Sunrise Gold, Lilac Purple and Titanium Gray.

While the debated about whether the iPhone XS is better than the other, it all boils down to the users and what they look out for in a phone. Both phones are undisputedly high-end phones which are of quality and very durable.

Some might ignore that battery capacity of the iPhone XS when compared to a Samsung Galaxy S9 PLUS. Some might prefer the iOS relative security compared to Android’s. Many people especially young persons might want to play around with customers ROMs on their phones and be allowed more freedom to tweak their phones which is more possible on the Android which the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus runs o.

There are countless reasons to make an argument for which phone is better than which but always keep in mind that what you seek in a phone might not be what the other person seeks.
