What is Holiday Pay at Amazon?
Employees who are required to work on holidays are paid one hour for each hour worked on that day.
This means that a full-time employee will receive 8 hours of holiday pay for working 8 hours, whereas a part-time employee will receive 4 hours.
Generally, every employee is eligible for a holiday pay irrespective of the type of employment. However, this has changed in recent times, employees who don’t show up get nothing.
This is widely reported for part-time employees, full-time employees are said to be receiving their holiday pays even without showing up.
How Does Amazon Pay Employees on Memorial Day?
Amazon employees who work on holidays are paid 1.5 times their regular hourly rate. This is simply your normal hourly rate multiplied by 1.5. (for hourly staff).
Salaried employees who work on holidays receive double pay for the hours worked.
The company recently announced a one-time bonus for all employees to be given during the holidays. According to the announcement, full-time employees would receive $300, while part-time employees would receive $150.
