INTRODUCTION

Education is an important instrument in the development of any nation. This is why many countries of the world today have made it a top priority. This means that education is regarded as an important tool for achieving national goals over the world.

In Nigeria, the seriousness attached to education is clearly understood in the National Policy on Education (2004) where it stated that the Federal Government of Nigeria has adopted education as an instrument per excellence for effecting national development.

Education is therefore, a necessity as it helps to prepare and equip learners for all aspects of life. It provides learners with the basic foundation to function and develop in the society. To achieve this, it is very important to provide the learners with students‟ welfare services in the campuses.

The future of a country depends on the education of the citizens and therefore education assures the future of the society and provides continuity. For this reason, educational managers are supposed to be responsible for funding, overseeing and managing educational institutions in order to ensure quality output.
