Construction of a Wireless Bass Guitar

ABSTRACT

This research on “construction of a wireless bass guitar” is a concept borne out of the desire to practice the art of construction of musical instrument based on the music Instrument Technology studies/training received in the University.

The researcher embarks on this work by sourcing for materials from the local environment for the construction of a western musical instrument (bass guitar) with a remarkable difference as a contribution to the world of music technology.

The research design include descriptive and experimental which enabled the researcher to embark field work for materials, interview with a furniture maker, library and internet sources for proper documentation and construction of the bass guitar with a spectacular design.

INTRODUCTION

Music technology is the approach to the making or construction, care and maintenance of musical instruments. It is a branch of science that seeks to bring out innovations and techniques in the musical instrument for a better performance. This study deals with the construction of a bass guitar with a creative innovation.

The construction of any musical instrument such as the construction of the four-string wireless bass guitar. The guitar is a western musical instrument in the stringed instrument family.

It is common knowledge, following the present trend of creativity and innovation from students of music technology that in the next ten to twenty years some musical instruments such as the guitar may no longer be imported. The wireless bass guitar is placed basically with the fingers and resembles the doubles bass.

The idea of innovation in this construction came from one of the innovator of the bass guitar in the 1990’s name Leo Fender of the United State. Leo Fender developed the bass guitar using the idea of Paul Tutmane on the double bass. Leo used many parts for the bass guitar and called the instrument, the “Fender Precision Bass”.
