About NALDA

The NALDA Volunteer programme provides opportunities for eligible Nigerians to contribute their volunteer actions, where suitable, to support the work of NALDA in the three main NALDA pilot projects.

NALDA in partnership with The Nigeria Institute of Soil Science (NISS) is set to train and engage 37,000 youth as soil doctors across the 36 states including FCT.

The long term goal of the partnership centres on engaging young Nigerians in the scientific method of farming to aid better crop yields and food security across the Nation.

The core essence of this engagement programme is geared towards creating a pool of qualified Nigerian youth who will carry out soil tests, soil management and extension services for farmers across the nation at a very subsidized rate.

The programme is targeted at young Nigerian graduates who have a background in agriculture or sciences, the potential graduate must be passionate about agric business and food security in Nigeria.

At the end of a 14-day training on soil testing, soil management and extension services, NALDA will equip each graduate with soil test kits to practice.

The general objective of this programme is to train and equip young Nigerian graduates with soil test, soil management and extension services skills.

The young doctors will assist farmers to evaluate their soil, identify soil nutrients and prescribe fertilizers and crops suitable for their farmlands for a better yield.

Requirements for NALDA Recruitment

Applicants applying for the NALDA recruitment must possess any of the following.

Possession of B.Sc, HND, NCE, OND concerning the applied position from a recognized institution.

Any added certificate either postgraduate or professional certification will be of advantage.

NYSC Discharge/Exemption Certificate.

West African School Certificate (WAEC) with Credits in not less than three (3) subjects including English and at least passes in two (2) other subjects.

Candidates must have National Examination Council (NECO) with passes in four (4) subjects obtained at one sitting or five (5) subjects obtained at two sittings including the English Language.)

National Diploma (ND) obtained from a recognized institution.

National Certificate of Education (NCE) from a recognized institution.

All candidates must have a valid means of identification such as a valid driver license, National Identification Card, International passport, Voters card etc.

Ability to work with basic computer applications (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.).

Geographical mobility within and outside Nigeria.
