So apparently Elon Musk is  not the only super billionaire with aspirations of meeting E.T. In this article we shall find out if Jeff Bezos is in space and all the aftermath of the extra-terrestrial journey.

Who is Jeff Bezos?

Jeff Bezos is an entrepreneur the founder and CEO of the e-commerce company Amazon, owner of The Washington Post and founder of the space exploration company Blue Origin.

Jeff Bezos was born on January 12, 1964, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to a teenage mother, Jacklyn Gise Jorgensen, and his biological father, Ted Jorgensen. 

He studied computer science and electrical engineering at Princeton University.

After graduating college, he worked on Wall Street, and in 1990 he became the youngest senior vice president at the investment firm D.E. Shaw.

Jeff Bezos quit his job in 1994, moved to Seattle and targeted the untapped potential of the Internet market by opening an online bookstore.

Amazon.com, an online bookstore, became one of the Internet’s biggest success stories.

In 2013, Bezos purchased The Washington Post, and in 2017 Amazon acquired Whole Foods.

Also, In February 2021, Amazon announced that Bezos will be stepping down as CEO in the third quarter of the year.

Bezos first became a millionaire in 1997 after raising $54 million through Amazon’s initial public offering (IPO).

He was first included on the Forbes World’s Billionaires list in 1999 with a registered net worth of $10.1 billion.

His net worth decreased to $6.1 billion a year later, a 40.5% drop.

His wealth plummeted even more the following year, dropping 66.6% to $2.0 billion. He lost $500 million the following year, which brought his net worth down to $1.5 billion.

The following year, his net worth increased by 104% to $2.5 billion. From 2005 to 2007, he quadrupled his net worth to $8.7 billion.

 After the financial crisis and succeeding economic recession, his net worth would decrease to $6.8 billion—a 17.7% drop.

His wealth rose by 85.2% in 2010, leaving him with $12.6 billion. This percentage increase ascended him to the 43rd spot on the ranking from 68th.

9 a.m EDT on Tuesday, July 20, the 52nd anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing. The New Shepard rocket and capsule that would carry multi-billionaire Jeff Bezos was ready to launch into inter-stellar horizons.

The Blue Origin team blasted off from the desert near Van Horn, Texas, and entered space aboard New Shepard, the launch vehicle created by Bezos’ company Blue Origin.

The flight of just over 10 minutes made Amazon founder Bezos the second billionaire to enter space, with the flight also carrying Bezos’ brother, Mark; 82-year-old female aviation pioneer Wally Funk; and Oliver Daemen, the 18-year-old son of a millionaire.

Just days earlier, Richard Branson traveled to the edge of space aboard a Virgin Galactic spacecraft. What a time to be super rich!
