Stellenbosch University (SU) is now calling for applications from qualified students for their Stellenbosch University GEM Scholarships which is a fully-funded scholarship for all students.
Stellenbosch University GEM Scholarships
Across its five campuses, Stellenbosch University (SU) is home to a student body of 29 000 (including 4,000 international students from 100 different countries) and a permanent workforce of 3 000 (including 1,000 academics).
The Western Cape’s historic, oak-lined university town, nestled in the Boland Mountains, has a distinctive campus ambiance that draws both domestic and international students.
Goals and Advantages of the GEM Scholarships at Stellenbosch University
Applicants for full scholarships, which are worth at least R138 000 annually for three years, are welcome.

Requirements for Stellenbosch University GEM Scholarships
The following are the criteria a candidate must meet before being granted the scholarship:
1. Candidates must have acquired a master’s degree in the relevant discipline or, in exceptional circumstances, an equivalent qualification.
2. Candidates must have achieved a grade of 65% in their master’s program.
3. Prior to the program’s start in January, applicants must be under 40 years old.
4. Only applications in one of the Faculty’s Research Themes will be considered.
5. All students who meet the below criteria will be considered.
Selection Criteria
These scholarships are distributed by the Graduate School after carefully evaluating each applicant.
