About Ahmadu Bello

Bello was born in Rabahc. 1910 to the family of Mallam Ibrahim Bello. His father held the title of Sarkin Rabah.

He is a descendant of Uthman dan Fodio founder of the Sokoto Caliphate, a great-grandson of Sultan Muhammad Bello, and a grandson of Sultan Atiku na Raba.

Education

He received Islamic education at home, where he learned the Qur’an, Islamic jurisprudence and the traditions of the Prophet Muhammad.

He later attended Sokoto Provincial School and the Katsina Training College (now Barewa College). During his school days, he was known as Ahmadu Rabah.

Political Career

He finished school in 1931 and subsequently became the English master teacher in Sokoto Middle School. In 1934, Bello was made the District Head of Rabah by Sultan Hassan dan Mu’azu, succeeding his brother.

In 1938, he was promoted to the position of Divisional Head of Gusau (in present-day Zamfara State) and became a member of the Sultan’s council.

In 1938, at the age of just 28, he attempted to become the Sultan of Sokoto but was unsuccessful, losing to Sir Siddiq Abubakar III who reigned for 50 years until his death in 1988.

Native Council Stint

The new Sultan immediately made Sir Ahmadu Bello the Sardauna (Crown Prince) of Sokoto, a chieftaincy title, and promoted him to the Sokoto Native Authority Council.

These titles automatically made him the Chief Political Adviser to the Sultan.

Later, he was put in charge of the Sokoto Province to oversee 47 districts and by 1944, he was back at the Sultan’s Palace to work as the Chief Secretary of the State Native Administration.

Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) is a federal government research university in Zaria, Kaduna State, Nigeria. ABU was founded on 4 October 1962, as the University of Northern Nigeria. Also, the university operates two campuses:

Samaru (main).

Kongo in Zaria.

Also, there is a pre-degree school in Funtua. And this is a few kilometres from the main campus owned by the university. Also, the Samaru campus houses the administrative offices and the following faculties:

ABU Registration Portal for Post UTME Exercise

In order to partake for this year 2021/2022 Ahmadu Bello University Zaria (ABU ZARIA) post UTME exercise, you must have attained a score of 180-200 in the concluded Jamb CBT Examination.

Also, be aware that Ahmadu Bello University Zaria (ABU ZARIA) will conduct a post UTME admission screening exercise this year. As such, we advise all Aspirants to prepare well.

How to Apply for ABU Zaria Post UTME Form via the ABU Registration Portal

To register, candidates are required to log into https://putme.abu.edu.ng. Or click on 2021/2022 Post-UTME Registration on the Ahmadu Bello University website.

Also, applicants are required to pay the sum of Two Thousand Naira (N2000.00) only as a screening fee.

Payment can either be made via Remita using any acceptable debit card (Visa, verve, and Master Card). OR by printing the Remita retrieval Reference (RRR) slip and proceed to any commercial Bank.

Candidates need not travel to Zaria to make payment.

Additionally, a candidate who fails to appear for the screening exercise on the dates indicated above will not be considered for admission into the university during the 2021/2022 academic session.

On the day of screening, UTME candidates must come along with the print-out of their schedule slips with the uploaded passport photograph and a printout of the UTME result which must be submitted on the day of the screening.
